The East Sussex (Public Bridleways Westham 3b, 3c, 3d, Pevensey 13
and Public Footpath Westham 4) (Temporary Bridleway and Footpath Closure)
Order 2026
To protect public safety during sluice replacement works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following bridleways and footpath:
Temporary Bridleway and Footpath Closure
The whole of Public Bridleway Westham 3b will be closed between TQ 6393 0580 and TQ 6428 0545.
The whole of Public Bridleway Westham 3c will be closed between TQ 6428 0545 and TQ 6448 0522.
The whole of Public Bridleway Westham 3d will be closed between TQ 6447 0520 and TQ 6446 0515.
The whole of Public Bridleway Pevensey 13 will be closed between TQ 6449 0492 and TQ 6446 0515.
The whole of Public Footpath Westham 4 will be closed between TQ 6397 0579 and TQ 6428 0545.
An alternative route for pedestrians only is available by using public footpaths Westham 5a, 5b, 5c and 6b to the west and vice versa.
The Order is made following the issuing of a Temporary Notice under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Act 1984, as amended.
The closure will be in force for 6 months from 30 March 2026, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier, which after this period will require an extension from the Secretary of State, should the bridleways and footpath still be unavailable to use.

The East Sussex (U2011 Milnthorpe Road, Eastbourne)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Milnthorpe Road – from the junction with C432 Meads Road to the junction with U2020 St Johns Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U2020 St Johns Road – C432 Meads Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 15 April 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 15 April and 9 July 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U2070 Beechy Avenue, Eastbourne)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Beechy Avenue – from the junction with U2070 Beechy Gardens to the junction with U2070 Cavalry Crescent.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U2070 Cavalry Crescent, South Avenue, Beechy Gardens and vice versa.
The Order commences 30 March 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 30 and 31 March 2026 depending upon the weather conditions. If you require further information telephone Network Management on 0345 60 80 193.
The East Sussex (U7342 Church Road, Polegate)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
To allow Power On Electric to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Church Road – from the junction with A2270 Eastbourne Road to the junction with U7342 Brightling Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7342 Church Road – C40 High Street – A2270 Eastbourne Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 30 March 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 30 March and 10 April 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U2055 College Road, Eastbourne)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which continues temporarily to close the following length of road:
Temporary Road Closure
College Road – from the junction with U2058 Furness Road to the junction with U2056 Blackwater Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U2055 College Road – U2058 Furness Road – U2044 Grassington Road – U2056 Blackwater Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 30 March 2026 and is made following the issuing of a Temporary Notice dated 16 February 2026 and a Temporary Successive Notice dated 9 March 2026 under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. The Order lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated the closure will be in place between 30 March and 13 April 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.
