THE A35 TRUNK ROAD (CHARMOUTH TO TROY TOWN)
(30 MPH, 40 MPH AND 50 MPH SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2026
Notice is given that National Highways Limited (a) has made an Order under section 84(1)(a) and (2) of, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the A35 Trunk Road in Dorset.
The effect of the Order would be to impose:
(a) a 50 mph speed limit on:
(i) the A35 eastbound and westbound between 82 metres east of the junction with Berne Lane and the A35 eastbound and a point 224 metres west of the junction with Tizard’s Knap;
(ii) the A35 eastbound and westbound between 45 metres west of the junction with Bereby Hut lane and 130 metres west of the junction with Valley Cottages;
(iii) the A35 eastbound and westbound between 58 metres west of the junction with Coombe Road and a point 70 metres west of Monkey’s Jump Roundabout;
(iv) the A35 eastbound and westbound between 74 metres west of Stinsford Roundabout and 100 metres west of the overbridge at Cuckoo Lane Junction;
(b) a 40 mph speed limit on:
(i) the A35 eastbound and westbound between 224 metres west of the junction with Tizzard’s Knap and the 136 metres east of the centre of the junction with the road to Ryall (Star Lane)
(ii) the A35 eastbound and westbound between 109 metres east of the junction with Howard Road and 52 metres east of the junction with Firch Lane;
(c) a 30 mph speed limit on the A35 eastbound and westbound between 75 metres southwest of the junction with Hollow Way and 109 metres east of the junction with Howard Road;
(d) revoke The A35 Trunk Road (40 mph Speed Limit) Order 1993, The A35 Trunk Road (40 mph Speed Limit) Order 1993 (variation), The A35 Trunk Road (Morecombelake, Dorset) Order 1993 and The A35 Trunk Road (Morecombelake, Dorset) Order 2009.
