What is happening?
NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
LYNG – C198 Heath Road from 100m south-west of its junction with U31046 Bakery Lane for 100m south-westwards to facilitate s278 works including new footways and gully replacements from 23rd to 27th March 2026 (may continue until 8th May 2026).
Alternative route via: C198/C123 Heath Road, C212 Rectory Road/Mill Street, C216 Lime Kiln Road, A1067 Main Road, C198 Lyng Road/The Street/The Common and vice versa (Sparham, Bylaugh, Lyng, Elsing).
The works promoter is Strand Developments.
MARLINGFORD AND COLTON – C162 Barford Road from its junction with C174A Colton Road for 30m eastwards to facilitate water pipe repairs from 23rd to 25th March 2026 (may continue until 6th May 2026).
Alternative route is via Barford Road, Mill Road, Church Road.
The works promoter is Anglian Water.
RAYNHAM AND TITTLESHALL – A) C234 Pollywiggle Lane from its junction with A1065 Swaffham Road to its junction with 1R1063 Raynham R66, B) C234 Road from Fakenham Road to South Raynham from its junction with 1R1063 Raynham R66 to its junction with C123 Fakenham Road to facilitate carriageway repairs from 24th to 27th March 2026 (may continue until 8th May 2026).
Alternative route is via: A1065 Swaffham Road/Gravelpit Hill, C123 Fakenham Road and vice versa (Tittleshall, Pudding Norton, Raynham, Colkirk, Hempton, Dunton).
The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
REDENHALL WITH HARLESTON – C565 Spirketts Lane from 320m east of its junction with B1116 Shortford Road for 60m westwards to facilitate the upgrading of a gas main from 25th March to 9th April 2026 (may continue until 21st May 2026).
Alternative route is via: C565 Spirketts Lane, Mendham Lane, A143 Harleston Bypass, High Road, Needham Road, Shotford Road (Redenhall with Harleston, Needham).
The works promoter is Cadent.
SHOTESHAM – C203 Heath Road/Honeypot Lane from its junction with U78033 Baxter Lane to its junction with C371 Woodton Road to facilitate installation of new fibre network from 23rd March to 1st April 2026 (may continue until 13th May 2026).
Alternative route is via: Brooke Road, Chapel Lane, Shotesham Road, B1332 Bungay Road/Norwich Road, High Green (Poringland, Brooke, Shotesham, Howe).
The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
NB: Access for Backwood Lane from The Green up to the points of closure.
SWAFFHAM – Sporle Road from 150m northeast of its junction with Orford Road for 300m north-eastwards to facilitate pole testing and tree cutting between 09:30 and 15:30 on 23rd March 2026 (may continue until 4th May 2026).
Alternative route is via: C123 Sporle Road, U33356 New Sporle Road, C562 Norwich Road, A47, C123 Sporle Road.
The works promoter is BT.
WYMONDHAM – U78013 Silfield Street from its junction with U78288 Burnthouse Lane for 50m westwards to facilitate pole replacement from 25th to 27th March 2026 (may continue until 8th May 2026).
Alternative route is via: Silfield Street, Compass Road, Burnthouse Lane.
The works promoter is BT.

BURNHAM MARKET – U22168 Friars Lane from its junction with B1155 Overy Road for 40m northwards to facilitate tree felling works between 07:00 and 23:59 on 23rd March 2026 (may continue until 4th May 2026).
Alternative route is via: Friars Lane, Bellamys Lane, Overy Road (Burnham Norton, Burnham Market).
The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
CONGHAM – B1153 Grimston Road from its junction with C76 St Andrews Lane for 312m southwards to facilitate HRA patching works from 23rd to 26th March 2026 (may continue until 7th May 2026).
Alternative route is via: Grimston Road, Station Road, Lynn Road, Hillington Road, Queen Elizabeth Way, Gayton Road, Congham Road (Hillington, Roydon, Congham, Castle Rising, Gayton, Leziate, Bawsey, Grimston).
The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
DOWNHAM MARKET – A1122 Western Bypass from its junction with A1122-S2326 St Johns Roundabout for 452m northwards to facilitate carriageway resurfacing from 23rd to 27th March 2026 (may continue until 8th May 2026).
Alternative route is via Station Road, Bridge Road, Downham Road, Outwell Road, Well Creek Road, Wisbech Road, Elm High Road, Wisbech Bypass, A47/Walton Highway Bypass/Walpole Highway Bypass/Terrington St John Bypass/Tilney All Saints Bypass/Pullover Road/A47/West Winch Road/Main Road/Lynn Road, A10 Stow Bardolph Bypass/Downham Bypass/Downham Eastern Bypass, A1122 Southern Bypass (Walton, Downham West, Tilney All Saints, Stow Bardolph, Nordelph, Denver, Terrington St. John, Walsoken, Downham Market, Walpole Highway, North Runcton, Elm, Emneth, Wimbotsham, West Walton, Ryston, West Winch, Tilney St. Lawrence, Wormegay, Outwell, Tottenhill, Runcton Holme).

WIGGENHALL ST. GERMANS – C8 High Road from 460m west of its junction with U21426 Low Road for 400m southwards to facilitate cabling works between 09:30 and 15:30 from 23rd to 24th March 2026 (may continue until 5th May 2026).
Alternative route is via High Road, Saddlebow Road, A47/Tilney All Saints Bypass/A47, Islington Road, The Avenue, Sluice Road, School Road, Lynn Road (Tilney All Saints, Wiggenhall St. Germans, Tilney St. Lawrence).
The works promoter is BT.

Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by traffic of the named road(s)/footpath(s). In the event the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. Where an Order is for a reason other than works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath. Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the end date where necessary or required. The Orders are revoked on the end date or on the actual date of removal of the prohibition/restriction where earlier without further notice. If necessary, the restrictions can have a maximum duration of 18 months or 6 months in respect of footpaths, cycle paths, bridleways, restricted byways, and byways open to all traffic (BOAT). Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
