TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2026
GOLDINGTON ROAD, (KIMBOLTON ROAD ROUNDABOUT) BEDFORD 26 – 002
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Goldington Road, roundabout exit slip onto Kimbolton Road Bedford.
This temporary cycle lane closure and lane closure required to access a manhole to carry out desilting work and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 08:00 to 16:00 hours 12th April 2026
The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via St Peters Street, Dame Alice Street, St Loyes Street, Bromham Road, Shakespeare Road, Clapham Road, Tavistock Street, The Broadway, Kimbolton Road, Goldington Road.
The reverse route applies.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Colesden Road, Colesden.
This temporary road closure is required for a new water connection and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours from 8th April 2026 to 10th April 2026
The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via Colesden Road, Roxton Road, Bedford Road, New Road, Green End Road, Barford Road.
The reverse route applies.

RESTRICTION ORDER 2026
BARFORD ROAD LITTLE BARFORD 26 – 027
NOTICE is hereby given that Bedford Borough Council has made an order to revoke 7.5 tonne weight limit Barford Road Little Barford 26 - 027. This temporary 7.5 tonnes weight restriction is required to facilitate traffic management and is expected to be in operation 24 HOURS A DAY from the 1st April 2026 to 1st September 2027 and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

LITTLE BARFORD ROAD, LITTLE BARFORD 26 – 028
TEMPORARY 40 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Bedford Borough Council has made an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along that length of Little Barford Road, Little Barford, between Little Barford and 300m South of Glebe Farm, at a speed exceeding of 40 mph.
This temporary 40 mph speed restriction is required to facilitate traffic management for the improvements for the Black Cat roundabout and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
This temporary 40 mph speed restriction is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours from 1st April 2026 - 1st September 2027.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 26th March 2026 Bedford Borough Council made the above Traffic Regulation Order, the effect of which is detailed below:
Effect of the Order:
1. To introduce a 7.5 tonne weight restriction on the following length of road:

| (i) | From the junction of The Lane, Wyboston with Roxton Road, Wyboston extending to the junction of The Lane, Wyboston with Rookery Road, Wyboston. |
Date of Operation: This Order will come into force on 30th March 2026 or as soon as practicable after this date.

High Court Challenge: Any person who desires to question the validity of this Order or any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date of this Notice, make application for that purpose to the High Court.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 26th March 2026 Bedford Borough Council made the above Traffic Regulation Order, the effect of which is detailed below:
Effect of the Order:
1. To introduce a double yellow line restriction (no waiting at any time) on the following length of road:

| (i) | On its eastern kerb, extending from the projected boundary of property No.7 for a distance of approx.14 metres in a northerly direction. |

FOOTPATH NO A1 AND ELSTOW FOOTPATH NO 8)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Bedford Borough Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of Stewartby: Footpath No A1 and Elstow: Footpath No 8 which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference TL 0342 4643 (OS GR) to TL 0395 4586 OS GR.
This closure is required to secure site for works, security, and safety during development. The closure will take place from Wednesday 1st April 2026.
There is no alternative route for users while the closure is in operation. The Order will come into operation on Wednesday 1st April 2026 for a period not exceeding six months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near to the footpaths have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within six months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.
