What is happening?
SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE U2418 DEVONSHIRE ROAD AND U2415 BACK HAMLET, IPSWICH
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads:
1. U2418 Devonshire Road, Ipswich
2. U2415 Back Hamlet, Ipswich – westbound only.
This is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
For the duration of this closure there will be a prohibition of waiting on the U2418 Devonshire Road, Ipswich. There will be no exceptions.
As this road closure is required to permit essential works to the highway any vehicles that remain in the area affected during the period of the restriction may be removed in accordance with powers available to do so. The diversion routes will be:
1. Back Hamlet, Foxhall Road, Alan Road, Cavendish Street and vice versa
2. Grove Lane, St Helens Street, Grimwade Street, Fore Street with no vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 25/03/2026 - 27/03/2026 from 8am to 5pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C482 KENTON ROAD, DEBENHAM
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C482 Kenton Road, Debenham from 405 metres north east of Thorpe Lane for 245 metres north eastbound to facilitate pole replacement and overhead cabling works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Eye Road, Kenton Road, Bedingfield, The Street, Bucks Green, the B1077, Thorpe Lane and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate on 25/03/2026 from 8am - 6pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE, SUSPENSION OF 7.5 TONNE WEIGHT RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF WAITING ON PART OF THE C461 PAPER MILL LANE, B1113 HIGH STREET AND BRAMFORD ROAD, C442 LOWER STREET AND C462 BURSTALL LANE, CLAYDON AND SPROUGHTON
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C461 Paper Mill Lane, Claydon from 500 metres south of Bramford Road roundabout for 200 metres southbound to facilitate bridge joint repairs on the A14. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route (Light cars and vehicles only) will be the B1113, the B1067 and vice versa.
For the duration of this closure there will be a suspension of the 7.5 tonne weight restriction on the:
• B1113 High Street, Sproughton
• B1113 Bramford Road, Sproughton from High Street for 15 metres northbound.
For the duration of this closure there will also be a temporary prohibition of waiting with no exceptions to facilitate use of four-way traffic signals being deployed at the Lower Street crossroads on the:
• C442 Lower Street, Sproughton from the B1113 for 60 metres eastbound
• C462 Burstall Lane, Sproughton from the B1113 for 60 metres westbound
• B1113 High Street, Sproughton from Lower Street for 320 metres southbound
• B1113 Bramford Road, Sproughton from Lower Street for 30 metres northbound
It is intended that these measures will operate from 25/03/2026 - 27/03/2026 from 8pm to 6am but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U5931 SHEPAGATE LANE, BADWELL ASH
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U5931 Shepagate Lane, Badwell Ash from Barn Cottage for 30 metres northbound to facilitate water remedial works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Crowsland Road Walsham Le Willows, Palmer Street Walsham Le Willows, Badwell Road Walsham Le Willows, The Street Badwell Ash, Ricker Road Badwell Ash, Long Thurlow Road Great Ashfield, Long Thurlow Road Badwell Ash and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate on 04/04/2026 from 8am - 6pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE B1106 WHEPSTEAD ROAD, HORRINGER
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the B1106 Whepstead Road, Horringer from Hopleys Lodge for 700 metres southbound to facilitate overhead cabling and splicing and pole testing works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be the B1066, the A143, the A1302, the A134, the A1092 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from:
• 04/04/2026 - 05/04/2026 from 9.30am - 3.30pm
• 11/04/2026 from 9.30am - 3.30pm
If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
