The reason for the closures and restrictions is for carriageway resurfacing works.

There will be no stopping or waiting and no loading permitted throughout the duration of the said works.

The said roads are expected to be closed and restricted, during various times, on a rolling programme commencing 1st April 2026 where the presence of approved signage will indicate whether the closures and restrictions are in force. Further advance warnings of dates/times will be displayed on site prior to the closures and restrictions taking effect. This Order can permit the closure and restriction of the road in any order, or simultaneously as required. It is anticipated all works will be completed by 30th June 2026.

NOTICE is hereby given that Gloucestershire County Council has made a variation under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), the effect of which will introduce waiting, loading and stopping restrictions as described in The Schedule below.

The variation affects roads in the Westgate Ward within the City of Gloucester in the County of Gloucestershire.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF C79 OLD CHELTENHAM ROAD (LONGLEVENS WARD) GLOUCESTER CITY

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the C79 Old Cheltenham Road from its junction with Cheltenham Road to its junction with Church Road for a distance of approximately 170 metres.

The reason for the said closure is for works involving excavating and laying new electric cable.

The said road is expected to be closed from 17th April 2026 until 19th April 2026 only. However, if the said works are not completed by this date the Order may remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF PUBLIC FOOTPATH ECN 77 (CHURCHDOWN PARISH) TEWKESBURY BOROUGH

Gloucestershire County Council has by this notice closed temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) part of public footpath ECN 77 from its junction with Public Footpath ECN 76a and then extends in a generally south easterly direction for approximately 240 metres to its junction with Public Footpath ECN 78.

The Footpath falls in Churchdown Parish in the Tewkesbury Borough and in the County of Gloucestershire;

The closure is necessary to safeguard the health and safety of the public due to unsafe M5 footbridge.

The Public Footpath was originally closed for 21 days, by Emergency Notice from 9th March 2026.

The works are still ongoing, and it is therefore now necessary to make a closure Order.

The said Order shall come into operation on 30th March 2026 and authorises the closure of Public Footpath ECN 77 for up to six months from the date of the original Notice which was 9th March 2026. If the problem continues after this time, then it will be necessary to make an application to the Secretary of State for an extension.

Alternative Routes – As signed on site. Emergency and Pedestrian access to adjoining premises is to be maintained.

Gloucestershire County Council has by this notice closed temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) part of public footpath EUL 20 from its junction with Public Footpath EUL 24 and then extends in a generally south easterly direction for approximately 100 metres.

The footpath falls in Upton St Leonards Parish in the Stroud District and in the County of Gloucestershire;

The closure is necessary to safeguard the health and safety of the public due to the unsafe M5 footbridge.

The Public Footpath was originally closed for 21 days, by Emergency Notice from 9th March 2026. The works are still ongoing, and it is therefore now necessary to make a closure Order.

The said Order shall come into operation on 30th March 2026 and authorises the closure of Public Footpath EUL 20 for up to six months from the date of the original Notice which was 9th March 2026. If the problem continues after this time, then it will be necessary to make an application to the Secretary of State for an extension.

Alternative Routes – Not available. Emergency and Pedestrian access to adjoining premises is to be maintained.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF PUBLIC BRIDLEWAY GPA1 (PAUNTLEY PARISH) FOREST OF DEAN DISTRICT

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has by this notice closed temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) Part of Public Bridleway GPA 1 in the Parish of Pauntley, from a point approximately 270 metres from its junction with Public Footpath GDY 38 & Public Bridleway GDY 70 extending in a generally easterly direction for approximately 630 metres to its junction with Public Footpath GPA 2.

The said Bridleway falls within Pauntley Parish in the Forest of Dean District within the County of Gloucestershire.

The said closure is necessary to safeguard the health and safety of the public due to unsafe adjoining trees.

The said Bridleway was originally closed for 21 days by Notice, commencing 10th February 2026, and extended by another such Notice for a further 21 day period, from 3rd March 2026. The works are still ongoing, and it is therefore now necessary to make a Temporary Closure Order.

The said Order shall come into operation on 24th March 2026 and authorises the said closure for up to six months from the date of the original Notice which was 10th February 2026.

If the problem continues after this time, then it will be necessary to make an application to the Secretary of State for an extension of time.

Alternative Routes – alternative route will be marked on the ground for Pedestrians only.

There is no alternative route for horses or cyclists.

Emergency access, and pedestrian access to adjoining premises (if any) will be maintained.
