What is happening?

TEMPORARY BRIDLEWAY CLOSURE
PUBLIC BRIDLEWAY NO.13 (PART) ECKINGTON

WHEN: 12 April to 11 October 2026.
WHERE: Close Eckington Bridleway No.13 for Approx. 60m between SK38747966 and
SK38757971.
REASON: To facilitate public safety due to concerns about the stability of a retaining wall.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: No Alternative Route Is Recommended for Bridleway users. Footpath users can use Footpath No.11 and Bridleway No.147 as an alternative.
Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of bridleway. The bridleway will re-open as soon as any necessary work to ensure the stability of the wall is finished. This may be earlier than advertised. Anyone needing further information should ring Call Derbyshire 01629 533190.
The County Council intends to make an order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit its use by traffic.
