What is happening?

ORDER 2007 (AMENDMENT NO. 1) ORDER 2026



On 19 March 2026 Shropshire Council made an order to place a 20mph speed limit on the following lengths of roads in Whittington:

A495 Station Road
From a point 21 metres east of the centre of its junction with Yew Tree Avenue to its junction with the B5009 Castle Street.
Station Road Cul-de-Sac
For the entirety of its adopted length.

Any existing speed limits on these locations will be revoked.

THE SHROPSHIRE COUNCIL
(PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2009 (STATION ROAD SERVICE ROAD, WHITTINGTON) (AMENDMENT) ORDER 2026

On 19 March 2026 Shropshire Council made an order to introduce the following parking restrictions in Whittington:

No Waiting At Any Time

Station Road service road adjacent to The Big House
(north side)
From its junction with the A495 in a northeasterly and then southeasterly direction to the extent of the adopted highway.
Station Road service road adjacent to The Big House
(south side)
From a point 31 metres northeast of the boundary of No. 6 Station Road, Whittington and The Big House, Station Road, Whittington first north- easterly and then south-easterly to the extent of the adopted Highway.

Disabled Badge Holders Only
Station Road service road adjacent to The Big House(south side)
From a point 6 metres northeast of he boundary of No. 6 Station Road, Whittington and The Big House, Station Road, Whittington for a distance of 13.2 metres in a northeasterly direction.

All of the above changes will come into effect on 27 March 2026.

Copies of the orders may be examined during normal office hours (8:45am- 5:00pm Monday to Thursday, and 8:45am-4:00pm on Fridays) at Shropshire Council, The Guildhall, Frankwell, Shrewsbury.

If you wish to question the validity of either Order, or any provisions in it, on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks from 19 March 2026, apply for that purpose to the High Court.
