(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of B6254 Kellet Lane, Carnforth from its junction with B6254 Market Street, Lancaster to its junction with North Road.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours on Thursday 9th April 2026 until 1900 hours on Friday 10th April 2026 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Access for emergency services will be maintained. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
B6254 Market Street – North Road and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow excavation to locate and repair a fault on an existing Low Voltage (LV) mains and/or service cable. Works will involve excavating to identify the cable, testing the cable, fault diagnosis, cable jointing or replacement, and subsequent testing. Upon completion, the area will be backfilled & reinstated. Works to be carried out by Network Plus on behalf of Electricity North West.
