DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT FOR THE COUNTY OF DERBYSHIRE
THE DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(DELETION OF PUBLIC FOOTPATH No. 86 AND ADDITION OF A FOOTPATH FROM SHALLCROSS ROAD TO ELNOR LANE - PARISH OF WHALEY BRIDGE) MODIFICATION ORDER 2026

The above Order made on 19 March 2026, if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by deleting the whole length and width of Whaley Bridge public footpath No. 86 from road at Shallcross Hall at Point A (Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (‘GR’) SK 012 798) in southeast direction crossing disused railway line to Elnor Lane north of Farend (GR SK 016 794) and adding a footpath in the Parish of Whaley Bridge from Shallcross Road at Point A (GR SK 0134 7980) commencing in a generally south-easterly then in a generally south-south-easterly then easterly direction to Elnor Lane Point B (GR SK 0165 7943), a total distance of 518 metres with a width of 2 metres.

Documents can also be seen free of charge at County Hall, Matlock, during normal office hours where copies may be bought at the price of £1.00 or at Whaley Bridge Library, 21 Market Street, Whaley Bridge, High Peak, SK23 7AA during normal opening hours.
Any representation or objection relating to the order must be sent in writing to the Director of Legal Services at the address below or by email to

not later than Thursday, 7 May 2026, and applicants are requested to state the grounds on which it is made.
If no representations or objections are duly made to the order, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Derbyshire County Council, instead of submitting the order to the Secretary of State may itself confirm the order. If the order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
