ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(FRECKLETON BYPASS, FRECKLETON AND NEWTON WITH CLIFTON, FYLDE BOROUGH) (REVOCATION AND 50MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 12th March 2026 Lancashire County Council made the above Speed Limit Order under Sections 82(2), 83(2) and 84 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to:
1. Revoke the "Lancashire County Council (Various Locations, Burnley, Chorley, Fylde, Hyndburn, Lancaster, Pendle, South Ribble and West Lancashire) (Revocation, 30mph, 40mph, 50mph, 60mph and Derestricted Speed Limits (21/22 No1)) Order 2023" insofar as it relates to Items a), b) and c) of Schedule 4.
2. Introduce 50mph speed limit in the following lengths of road:
a) Freckleton Bypass, Freckleton, from a point 120 metres east of its roundabout junction with Freckleton Bypass, Bryning with Warton to its junction with Preston New Road, Freckleton, including the roundabout;
b) Preston New Road, Freckleton, from its roundabout junction with Freckleton Bypass, Freckleton to its junction with Preston New Road, Newton with Clifton;
c) Preston New Road, Newton with Clifton, from its junction with Preston New Road, Freckleton, to its junction with A583 Blackpool Road.
Where no further speed limit is re-introduced, the speed limit will revert to restricted road status by virtue of street lighting, where a 30mph speed limit will apply.

This Order will come into force on the 30th March 2026. A copy of the Order, and all other relevant documents may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of Fylde Borough Council, Town Hall, Lytham St Annes, FY8 1LW, and at the offices of The Director of Law and Governance, Lancashire County Council, County Hall, Fishergate, Preston PR1 8XJ, and on Lancashire County Councils Website
