Tipner Interchange - Temporary Road Closure

Portsmouth City Council (Tipner Interchange) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.68) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 7th April 2026 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
M275 Junction 1 Off Slip From Junction 12 M27
In its entirety.

Tipner Interchange Roundabout
From M275 Junction 1 On Slip To Junction 12 M27 to M275 Junction 1 Off Slip From Junction A3/a2047 And End Of Motorway.
TIPNER LANE
From its eastern junction with Tipner Interchange Roundabout to the entrance to the Park & Ride Tipner Interchange.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate kerb and resurfacing works.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 7th April 2026 to 11th April 2026 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place on each night between 21:00 to 05:00 on.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from M275 Through Junction 1 From Junction 12 Of M27, M275 Junction 1 On Slip To Junction 2, M275 Junction 1 To Junction 2, M275 Junction 2 Off Slip From Junction 1, Rudmore Roundabout, Kingston Crescent, Mile End Road, M275 Junction 2 On Slip To Junction 1, M275 Junction 2 To Junction 1, M275 Junction 1 Off Slip From Junction 2, M275 Through Junction 1 From Junction 2.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
