(Temporary Closure) Order 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit any person from proceeding along a length of Public Footpath No. 417, Westhampnett from its junction with Sidengreen Lane (488637.372, 106965.134) to its junction with Stane Street (488701.312, 106529.474), a distance of 760M.
The Order is necessary to protect public safety whilst resurfacing works are undertaken on the footpath surface. There is an alternative route available using Public Bridleway No. 3583 which will be clearly signed onsite.
The Order will come into effect on 1 April 2026 and will last for 6 months or until it is safe to reopen the footpath.

(Temporary Closure) Order 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC made Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit any person from proceeding along lengths of:-
(i) Public Footpath No. 444 from its southern end at its junction with Public Footpath No. 449-2 (487083, 113422), northwards to its junction with the A286
(487419,114352), approximately 1.22KM; and
(ii) Public Footpath No 3013 from its junction with Public Footpath No. 449-2 (486078, 114196), eastwards to its junction with the A286 (487363,114989), approximately 1.77KM.
The Orders are necessary to protect public safety whilst civil engineering works are undertaken in the vicinity. A section of Footpath No. 444 is impacted by construction of a new combined cycleway/footway between Cucumber Farm and Littlewood Farm. A new bridge is being constructed at Littlewood Farm over a section of Public Footpath No. 3013. Unfortunately there are no alternative routes available using the PROW network.
The Orders will come into effect on 31 March 2026 and will last for 6 months or until it is safe to reopen the footpaths. Any queries about the works to take place or the effect of the Orders on persons using the footpaths should be directed to PROW Team, WSCC telephone number 01243 777620.
(Ebernoe & Kirdford: Public Footpath No. 607_1)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit any person from proceeding along a length of Public Footpath No. 607_1, from its junction with G36 Church Road to Ebernoe Road (498536.275, 127099.906) eastwards to its junction with Isling Bridge to Staples Hill (500163.463, 126930.572), a distance of 1.8KM. The Order is necessary to protect public safety due to a broken bridge.
Unfortunately there is no alternative route available using the Public Rights of Way network.
The Order will come into effect on 30 March 2026 and will last for 6 months or until the Public Footpath is safe to reopen whichever is sooner.

(Slindon: Reynolds Lane) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Reynolds Lane in Slindon from its junction with the A29 north-westwards for 90M.
The road closure is needed to allow new highway drainage to be installed in safety.
The Order will come into effect on 30 March 2026 and remain in force until 10 April 2026. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.
During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(Westbourne: White Chimney Row & Old Farm Lane)
(20MPH & 40MPH Speed Limit) Order 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that in exercise of their powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, WSCC, made a permanent Order the effect of which will be to extend the
20MPH speed limit for the entire length of White Chimney Road and the western extent of Old Farm Lane and to introduce a 40MPH speed limit on a length of Old Farm Lane.
The Order will come into operation on 30 March 2026.
Paper copies of documents will not be available to view in council offices or libraries. People without access to a computer who wish to have a copy of the Order should telephone the WSCC Contact Centre on 01243 642105 to receive a copy by post.
Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act, or on the grounds that any requirements of the act, or of any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks from 26 March 2026, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
