TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Southampton City Council intends to make the above Order.

1. The effect of the Order will be to close Howards Grove from its junction with St James Road to 130m south of its junction with St James Road.

2. The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road. These works are for a new water connection.

3. The alternative routes will be St James Road, Shirley Avenue, Shirley High Street and Howards Grove.

4. The Order will come into force on 7th April 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is sooner. It is expected that the works will be complete by 17th April 2026.
