THE BOROUGH OF BLACKPOOL
(WATERLOO ROAD BRIDGE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 25th March 2026 the Blackpool Borough Council made the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers to facilitate the replacement of the bridge structures waterproofing layer. The effect of the Order will be to:
(a) PROHIBIT all vehicles from entering or proceeding in any direction along the length of Waterloo Road between its junction with Parkinson Way and its junction with Garden Terrace.
(b) No right turn from Garden Terrace onto Waterloo Road.
(c) No left turn from Parkinson Way onto Waterloo Road.
Pedestrian access to premises will be maintained at all times. Vehicular access will be maintained at all times. All diversion routes will be clearly signed and maintained on site.
The proposed Order will commence on 05 April 2026 and continue in force for eighteen months or until the sooner completion of the aforesaid works. It is expected that the works will take 82 days.
