Various Locations Across Wallsend & Whitley Bay - Temporary Restriction Of Traffic For Footway Improvements

What is happening?

THE COUNCIL O F THE BOROUGH OF NORTH TYNESIDE
VARIOUS LOCATIONS ACROSS WALLSEND & WHITLEY BAY
TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2026

North Tyneside Council gives notice that it has made Orders under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Orders prohibits all through traffic on the following, and as and when signage indicates:

WALLSEND
1. Kings Road North from the junction with Warkworth Avenue/Mullen Road to outside 129 Kings Road North.

An alternate route is available via Mullen Road, Rae Avenue.

The temporary Order is required for footway improvements and junction reshaping works and will come into force on 7 April 2026 for a period not exceeding 12 days.

2. Canterbury Avenue outside of numbers 10-11.

There is no alternative route however access to be maintained/given where possible.

The temporary Order is required to excavate and carry out sewer repairs and will come into force on 13 April 2026 for a period not exceeding 5 days.

WHITLEY BAY
Fairfield Green from outside numbers 12-18.

An alternate route is available via Eastward Green, Fairfield Drive, Holm Green

The temporary Order is required for a sewer cleanse the Order will come into force on 14 April 2026 for a period not exceeding 1 days.
