What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT
(BRAMHALL MOOR LANE, HAZEL GROVE & SURROUNDING ROADS) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport has on the 19th March 2026 made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the Road Traffic Act 1991 and the Traffic Management Act 2004, which will come into operation on the 27th April 2026.
The effect of the Order will be to introduce No Waiting At Any Time for the following roads in bold: Bramhall Moor Lane, Hazel Grove (North West Side) - from a point 37 metres South West of the South Western kerb line of Pennine Road in a North Easterly direction to a point 17 metres North East of the North Eastern kerb line of Pennine Road. Bramhall Moor Lane, Hazel Grove (South Eastern Side) - from a point 32 metres South West of the South Western kerb line of Dorchester Road in a North Easterly direction to a point 16 metres North East of the North Eastern kerb line of Dorchester Road. Dorchester Road, Hazel Grove (Both Sides) - from the South Eastern kerb line of Bramhall Moor Lane for a distance of 10 metres in a South Easterly direction.
Dorchester Road, Hazel Grove (South West Side) - from a point 10 metres North West of the North Western kerb line of the Access Road to Grosvenor Lodge in a South Easterly direction to a point 10 metres South East of the South Eastern kerb line of Portland Close.
Dorchester Road, Hazel Grove (North East Side) - from a point 10 metres North West of the North Western kerb line of St John's Road in a South Easterly direction to a point 10 metres South East of the South Eastern kerb line of St John's Road. Pennine Road, Hazel Grove (Both Sides) - from the North Western kerb line of Bramhall Moor Lane for a distance of 10 metres in a North Westerly direction.
Portland Close, Hazel Grove (Both Sides) - from the South Western kerb line of Dorchester Road for a distance of 10 metres in a South Westerly direction. St John's Road, Hazel Grove (Both Sides) - from the North Eastern kerb line of Dorchester Road for a distance of 10 metres in a North Easterly direction. A copy of the Order, map and statement of the reasons for making the Order, can be obtained from Stockport Legal Services, Town Hall Stockport SK1 3XE.
Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or the Road Traffic Act 1991, or that a requirement of the Act or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
