Lowestoft - Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures and Speed Restriction for Junction Construction and Utility Works

What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION ON PART OF THE A12 LONDON ROAD FOOTWAY AND A12 LONDON ROAD PAKEFIELD, LOWESTOFT

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the A12 London Road Footway, Lowestoft from 157 metres south of the A12 roundabout for 60 metres southbound to facilitate the construction of a new junction. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

The diversion route will be Service Road A12 Gisleham, Tower Road Gisleham, London Road Pakefield Lowestoft and vice versa.

For the duration of this closure there will also be a temporary 30mph speed restriction on the A12 London Road Pakefield roundabout, Lowestoft for 512 metres southbound.

It is intended that these measures will operate from 20/03/2026 - 10/05/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U8012 WINSTON AVENUE, LOWESTOFT

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U8012 Winston Avenue, Lowestoft from 85 metres west of the junction with Dell Road for 30 metres south eastbound to facilitate a new electrical supply. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Dixon Drive, Dell Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 30/03/2026 - 02/04/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
