M42 J6 - A4545 Link Road
National Highways Limited hereby gives notice in accordance with the Special Roads (Notice of Opening) Regulations 1992 that, for the purposes of section 17(5) and all other relevant provisions of the above Act, 27/03/26 will be the date on which the 2.4km special road described in the following Schedule is open for use as a special road.
THE SCHEDULE
M42 J6é Improvement Scheme — A4545 Link Road
To increase capacity at junction 6 of the M42, and to accommodate future forecast traffic growth, National Highways are building a new 2.4km dual carriageway link road — the A4545 - aligned to the west of Bickenhill.
*At the southern end, the link road will connect to a new junction (5a) on the
M42 motorway, approximately 1.8km south of the existing M42 Junction 6
(Solihull).
*At the northern end, the link road will connect to Clock Interchange roundabout, providing direct access from the M42 to Birmingham Airport, the NEC and Birmingham Business Park, and a more direct route to connect to A45 westbound to Birmingham.
