B754 Castlehill Road - Temporary Road Closure For Overhead Power Line Work

What is happening?

NORTH LANARKSHIRE COUNCIL

B754 CASTLEHILL ROAD, WISHAW (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

On 16 March 2026 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on facilitating overhead power line work) on B754 Castlehill Road, Wishaw from its junction with Bluebell Wynd to its junction with Caplaw Grove by reason of works being executed on or near that location.

Alternative routes:

Alternative Route for vehicles of height less than or equal to 4.4m (14`6”)

Vehicles on the north side of the closure wishing to access the south side of the closure should travel via B7032 Caledonian Road, A721 Stewarton Street, A721 Wishaw Road, A71 Overtown Road, A71 Main Street and B754 Castlehill Road.

Vehicles on the south side of the closure wishing to access the north side should proceed vice versa.

Alternative Route for vehicles of a height greater than 4.4m (14`6”)

Vehicles on the north side of the closure wishing to access the south side of the closure should travel via B754 Netherton Road, B754 Shields Road, A721 Windmillhill Street, A721Brandon Street, A721 Mentieth Road, A723 Merry Street, New Craig Road, Robberhall Road, A721 Craigneuk Street, A721 Shieldmuir Street, A721 Glasgow Road, A721 Main Street, A721 Stewarton Street, A721 Wishaw Road, A71 Overtown Road, A71 Main Street and B754 Castlehill Road.

Vehicles on the south side of the closure wishing to access the north side of the closure should proceed vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure.

The Order, which will only be operational when displayed by signs, will come into operation at 0001 hours on Friday, 3 April 2026 and will remain in operation until 2359 hours on Thursday, 9 April 2026.
