TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 16A

MERSEY TUNNEL 10K RUN SPECIAL EVENT ORDER 2026

Wirral Borough Council hereby give notice under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act that from 8.30am until 12 Noon on Sunday 12 April 2026 the Mersey Tunnel 10k Run will take place and so as to facilitate this event in exercise of its powers under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 it has by order made the Mersey Tunnel 10k Run Special Event Order 2026 the general effect of which is set out below.

Temporary One-Way Traffic Regulation:

A5139 Dock Road, Wallasey – from its junction with A554 Tower Road to its junction with A5027 Gorsey Lane, vehicles shall proceed in a westerly direction.

A554 Birkenhead Road, Wallasey – from its junction with B5144 Kelvin Road to its junction with A554 Church Road, vehicles shall proceed in a north-easterly direction.

The alternative route for diverted traffic shall be Gorsey Lane, Poulton Road, Borough Road and Church Road.

Tower Promenade – from its junction with Tollemache Street to its junction with the Floral Pavilion roundabout, vehicles shall proceed in a north-westerly direction.

Temporary Road Closures:

Vernon Avenue at its junction with Oakdale Road

Oakdale Road, Wallasey from its junction with Geneva Road to its junction with A5139 Dock Road.

A554 Birkenhead Road, Wallasey from its junction with A554 Tower Road to its junction with B5144 Kelvin Road.

Victoria Place, Seacombe from its junction with Borough Road East to its junction with Seacombe Promenade.

Seacombe Promenade, Wallasey for its entire length

Egremont Promenade, Wallasey for its entire length

Magazines Promenade, Wallasey for its entire length

Tower Promenade, Wallasey from its junction with Tollemache Street in a southerly direction

Sandon Promenade, Wallasey for its entire length

Ian Fraser Walk, Wallasey for its entire length

All junctions adjoining the above roads will be temporarily closed along the route between 08:00hrs -12:00hrs when necessary. Where possible access will be maintained for residents and businesses.

Temporary Revocation of One-Way Traffic Regulation:

Seacombe View, Seacombe for its entire length.

The temporary one-way traffic regulation and temporary road closures are required to allow for the essential safe execution of the Mersey Tunnel 10k Run.

The Order will not prevent reasonable access at any time for pedestrians to premises situated on or adjacent to any road to which this Order relates nor any premises accessible only to pedestrians from such a road.

This Order will be known as the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral Mersey Tunnel 10k Run Special Event Order 2026 and shall come into operation from 08:30am until 12 Noon Sunday 12 April 2026.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 16A

KING GEORGES DRIVE SUGAR AND SPICE FESTIVAL PORT SUNLIGHT SPECIAL EVENT ORDER 2026

Whereas Wirral Borough Council are satisfied that the use of the roads listed below should be restricted to facilitate the above special event and to enable it to take place safely.

NOW THEREFORE the Council in exercise of its powers under s16A of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended and of all other enabling powers having satisfied itself that it is not reasonably practicable for the event to be held without being on this road intends to make an Order in the following terms:

No person shall cause any vehicle to enter or proceed along the length of roads listed below:

King Georges Drive, Port Sunlight from its junction of Lower Road to its junction with The Causeway. Windy Bank from its junction with King Georges Drive to its junction with Church Drive.

The Order will not prevent reasonable access at any time for pedestrians to premises situated on or adjacent to any road to which this Order relates nor any premises accessible only to pedestrians from such a road.

This Order will be known as the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral King Georges Drive Sugar and Spice Festival Port Sunlight Special Event Order 2026 and shall come into operation on the 3 and 4 April 2026 and apply between 7am and 6pm on those days only.

SECTION 14 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 (AS AMENDED)

NOTICE OF MAKING TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTION ORDER

IN THE PENSBY AREA 2026

Notice is hereby given that Wirral Borough Council intend to make a Temporary Road Traffic Regulation Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by section 1 and Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 and of all other enabling powers to enable works on or near the roads specified in the proposed order to take place.

The effects of the order, the alternative route for vehicular traffic, the date the order comes into force and its maximum duration is set out below.

Gills Lane (Temporary Road Closure) Pensby Order 2026

The effect of this order will be to close Gills Lane, Pensby at its junction with Pensby Road for a distance of 60 metres in an easterly direction to all vehicular traffic. Access will be maintained for pedestrians and cyclists.

Alternative Route: Barnston Road, Sparks Lane, Pensby Road.

Maximum Duration of the order: From 05 April 2026 and will continue to be in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 13 April 2026.
