What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

SEVENOAKS AREA

A25 Worships Hill, Riverhead, TN13 2AA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of replacement of belisha beacons at the crossing, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A25 Worships Hill, Riverhead, on or after 30th March 2026 for up to 2 nights between 21.00hrs and 05.00hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed adjacent to 10 The Square.

The alternative route is via A224 Amherst Hill, A224 London Road, A225 High Street, A225 Tonbridge Road, A225 Riverhill, A21 Sevenoaks Bypass, A25 Westerham Road, A25 Worships Hill and vice versa.



B2173 London Road, Swanley BR8 8NJ (PROHIBITION OF RIGHT TURN) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of SCOTIA GAS NETWORKS LIMITED works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit the right turn on part of B2173 London Road, Swanley, on or after 30th March 2026 for up to 26 days or until the works have been completed.

The right turn will be prohibited from the westbound side of B2173 London Road into Southern Cross Business Park.

The alternative route is via B2173 London Road/High Street and A20 Broom Hill Roundabout.



Brands Hatch, Sevenoaks (TRAFFIC RESRICTIONS) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

For the safety of the public whilst events are being held at Brands Hatch, Kent County Council has made an Order to restrict traffic on various roads in the Brands Hatch area, as defined below.

Restriction: 30mph Speed Limit in both directions from 06.30 – 19:30 hours.
Road Name: A20 London Road/Gorse Hill, West Kingsdown
Extent: Between the end of the existing 40mph limit London Road, Farningham and Twenty Mile Texaco Petrol Station, West Kingsdown
Dates: 5th April, 8th April, 3rd May, 10th May, 6th & 7th June, 18th & 19th July, 9th August, 27th September, 11th October, 17th & 18th October, 1st November 2026.

Restriction: 30mph Speed Limit in both directions from 15:00 – 19:30 hrs.
Road Name: Scratchers Lane, Fawkham & Fawkham Road, West Kingsdown.
Extent: Scratchers Lane – whole length.
Fawkham Road - from junction with Scratchers Lane to 100m North of Warland Road (start of 30mph speed limit) in both directions.
Dates: 5th April, 3rd May, 10th May, 6th & 7th June, 18th & 19th July, 9th August, 27th September, 11th October, 17th & 18th October, 1st November 2026.

Restriction: Suspend Cycle Lane Order from 06.30 – 19:30 hours.
Road Name: A20 London Road/Gorse Hill, West Kingsdown.
Extent 1: Between A225 Eynsford Road, Farningham and Twenty Mile Texaco Petrol Station, West Kingsdown.
Diversion: Cyclists should dismount and walk along the pavement for the length of the restriction.
Dates: 5th April, 3rd May, 10th May, 6th & 7th June, 18th & 19th July, 9th August, 27th September, 11th October, 17th & 18th October, 1st November 2026.
Extent 2: Southbound 50 metres either side of Fawkham Road (Portabello Junction).
Dates: 3rd May, 10th May, 6th & 7th June, 18th & 19th July, 11th October, 17th & 18th October, 1st November 2026.

Restriction: No Right Turn from 06.30 – 19:30 hours.
Extent: Fawkham Road onto A20 London Road (Portabello Junction).
Diversion: Traffic can turn left onto A20 and return.
Dates: 3rd May, 10th May, 6th & 7th June, 18th & 19th July, 11th October, 17th & 18th October, 1st November 2026.

Restriction: No Right Turn from 06.30 – 19:30 hours.
Road Name: A20 London Road/Gorse Hill, West Kingsdown Southbound.
Extent: Into Donkey Lane.
Diversion: Southbound A20 traffic wishing to access Donkey Lane will be diverted via the A225 Eynsford Road and Beesfield Lane.
Dates: 5th April, 3rd May, 10th May, 6th & 7th June, 18th & 19th July, 9th August, 27th September, 11th October, 17th & 18th October, 1st November 2026.

Restriction: No Right Turn from 06.30 – 19:30 hours.
Road Name: Donkey Lane, Farningham.
Extent: Into A20 Gorse Hill, Farningham.
Diversion: Traffic exiting Donkey Lane onto the A20 shall be able to turn left and return to the A20 southbound via .the A225/A20 roundabout.
Dates: 5th April, 3rd May, 10th May, 6th & 7th June, 18th & 19th July, 9th August, 27th September, 11th October, 17th & 18th October, 1st November 2026.

Restriction: No Left Turn from 06.30 – 19:30 hours.
Road Name: A20 London Road/Gorse Hill, West Kingsdown Northbound.
Extent: Into Scratchers Lane.
Diversion: Traffic travelling Northbound on the A20 shall be able to use the Portobello Junction and use Fawkham Road to access Scratchers Lane.
Dates: 5th April, 3rd May, 10th May, 6th & 7th June, 18th & 19th July, 9th August, 27th September, 11th October, 17th & 18th October, 1st November 2026.

Restriction: No Left Turn from 06.30 – 19:30 hours.
Road Name: A20 London Road/Gorse Hill, West Kingsdown.
Extent: Into Scratchers Lane.
Diversion: Traffic travelling Southbound on the A20 shall be able to use the Portobello Junction and use Fawkham Road to access Scratchers Lane.
Dates: 18th & 19th July, 17th & 18th October 2026.

Restriction: No Left Turn from 17:00 – 20:00 hours.
Road Name: A20 London Road/Gorse Hill, West Kingsdown Southbound.
Extent: Into Scratchers Lane.
Diversion: Traffic travelling Southbound on the A20 shall be able to use the Portobello Junction and use Fawkham Road to access Scratchers Lane.
Dates: 1st November 2026.



Chevening Road, Chipstead, TN13 2RT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of a BT pole replacement, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Chevening Road, Chipstead, on or after 13th April 2026 for up to 1 day between 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between High Street and Darent Close.

The alternative route is via High Street, Chipstead Lane, Bullfinch Lane, A224 London Road/Morants Court Road/Morants Court Roundabout, B2211 Sundridge Road, Chevening Cross Road, Chevening Road and vice versa.



Chipstead Lane, Sevenoaks, TN13 2AN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of a sewer connection, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Chipstead Lane, Sevenoaks, on or after 14th April 2026 for up to 13 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside The Terrace.

The alternative route is via Chipstead Lane, Witches Lane, A25 Worships Hill, A25 Westerham Road, Homedean Road, High Street and vice versa.



Filston Lane, Shoreham, TN14 7TA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of OPENREACH LIMITED works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Filston Lane, Shoreham, on or after 2nd April 2026 for up to 1 day between 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from Water Lane for approx. 500m northwards.

The alternative route is via Filston Lane, Church Street, Station Road, A255 Shoreham Road, A255 Station Road, High Street, Pilgrims Way West and vice versa.



Hitchen Hatch Lane, Sevenoaks, TN13 3BQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of access for deliveries to a construction site, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hitchen Hatch Lane, Sevenoaks, on or after 30th March 2026 and 18 May 2026 for up to 2 days between 09:30hrs and 15:30hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Mount Harry Road and Kincraig Drive.

The alternative route is via Mount Harry Road, Woodside Road, Hitchen Hatch Lane and vice versa.



Pembroke Road, Sevenoaks, TN13 1UY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of fresh, sewage and storm water connections, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Pembroke Road, Sevenoaks, on or after 13th April 2026 for up to 19 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between number 7 and Bligh’s Meadow entrance.

The alternative route is via A224 London Road, A224 Amherst Hill, A25 London Road, A25 Maidstone Road, A25 Bradbourne Vale Road, A225 St Johns Hill. A225 Dartford Road, A225 High Street and vice versa.



Puddledock Lane, Hextable, DA2 7QE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of a new gas supply, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Puddledock Lane, Hextable, on or after 13th April 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Foxlea House.

The alternative route is via Rowhill Road, B258 Top Dartford Road and vice versa.



Rye Lane, Otford, TN14 5LT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of SGN remedial works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Rye Lane, Otford, on or after 30th March 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 22.

The alternative route is via Rye Lane and vice versa.
