Portsmouth City Council (St Georges Road) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.56) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 23rd March 2026 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
ST GEORGES ROAD (NORTHBOUND)
From its junction with Park Road to its junction with St Georges Square.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate repair works to structure of rail bridge.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 23rd March 2026 to 29th May 2026 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from St Georges Road, Cambridge Junction Roundabout, Cambridge Road, St Michaels Road, Anglesea Road, Alfred Road, Market Way, Hope Street Roundabout, Market Way, Alfred Road, Anglesea Road, Park Road and The Hard, Queen Street, Alfred Road, Market Way, Hope Street Roundabout, Market Way, Alfred Road, Anglesea Road, St Michaels Road, King Richard I Road, Lord Montgomery Way, Hampshire Terrace, Cambridge Road, Cambridge Junction Roundabout, St Georges Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
