NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Staffordshire County Council intends to apply to Cannock Magistrates Court on 19th May 2026 at 10:00am for an Order under section 116 of the Highways Act 1980 that:
a) A length of highway of Blore Heath in the district of Newcastle under Lyme measuring a maximum of approximately seven hundred and twenty eight (728) metres in length with a maximum width of approximately ten (10) metres having a total maximum area of approximately three thousand eight hundred and ninety nine (3899) square metres be authorised to be stopped-up in its entirety on the grounds that it is unnecessary (shown hatched on the plan attached to this Notice).
b) A length of highway of Blore Heath in the district of Newcastle under Lyme measuring a maximum of approximately seventy five (75) metres in length with a maximum width of approximately four (4) metres having a total maximum area of approximately two hundred and seventy six (276) square metres be authorised to be stopped-up in its entirety on the grounds that it is unnecessary subject to the reservation of a Public Footpath along this length (shown stippled on the plan attached to this Notice).
Any person upon whom this Notice has been served, or who uses the highway, or who would be aggrieved by the making of the Order applied for has a right to be heard at the hearing. Any person intending to appear at the hearing is requested to give advance notification to Mrs. K. Hayes, Staffordshire Legal Services, 1 Staffordshire Place, Tipping Street, Stafford, ST16 2LP quoting reference: KH/ZIP049995.
