Spencer Street - Temporary Prohibition Of Driving For Gas Installation And Maintenance Works

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING ORDER 2026
The Oldham Borough Council intend to make a Temporary Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from proceeding along that part of Spencer Street between Shaw Road and Jones Street.
Alternative route - Jones Street, Egerton Street & Shaw Road.
The one way traffic restriction on Arnold Street for its full length between Shaw Road and Derker Street will be revoked for the period of the Order and the alternative route will be Shaw Road, Stampstone Street & Gould Street.
One-way working on Arnold Street will be revoked, but access will be only to the car dealership at junction of Albert Street and Shaw Road, managed by Stop And Go by Chevron TM on site, and only when required, in arrangement with the business owner and Chevron TM. There will be NO access to Shaw Road from Arnold Street.
The Order is to be made to allow gas installation and maintenance works and will be in force for 2 weeks from 28th March 2026, or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
