What is happening?
ABERDEENSHIRE COUNCIL
STONEHAVEN – TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING
“The Aberdeenshire Council (Market Square, Stonehaven – 23.03.26) (Temporary Prohibition of Waiting) Order, 2026” has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984.
The order will come into operation on 23 March 2026 until 31 October 2026 and will introduce a prohibition of waiting restriction in Stonehaven as follows:
WAITING RESTRICTION
Market Square (North) - from a point 9 metres east of the extended east kerbline of Barclay Street eastwards for a distance of 27 metres – South side only.
The restriction will not apply to visiting buses who will have priority waiting on this section of road to pick up and drop of passengers. If the parking section is free of buses the Stonehaven Land Train will be permitted to pick up and drop off at the location.
The temporary restriction is necessary in the interests of public safety due to seasonal bus parking. Details of the restriction can be viewed online at https://online.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/apps/roadworks/ Any queries should be directed to James Maitland 01467 536046.
