CROFT STREET, BIRKENSHAW) PUBLIC PATH

STOPPING UPORDER 2026

On the 11 March 2026 Kirklees Council confirmed the above Order.

The effect of the order as confirmed is to stop up:

(a) The full length and width of a public footpath shown on the order plan by a bold black line commencing at its junction with Allen Croft at grid reference SE 20443 2842 (Point A on the order plan) and proceeding northwesterly for some 72 metres then east-north-easterly for some 32 metres to its junction with Croft Street at grid reference SE 2043 2848 (Point B on the order plan).

(b)The full length and width of a restricted byway shown on the order plan annexed by a bold black line commencing at its junction with Old Lane at grid reference SE 2049 2849 (Point C on the order plan) and proceeding westerly for some 60 metres to grid reference SE 2043 2848 (Point B on the order plan). New paths will be created, as described below:

(c) A public footpath having a width of 2 metres shown on the order plan by bold black dashes commencing at its junction withAllen Croft at grid reference 20447 2842 (Point D on the order plan) and proceeding in a generally northerly direction for some 36 metres to grid reference 2043 2845 (Point E on the order plan) then proceeding generally north-easterly for some 80 metres to its junction with Old Lane at grid reference SE 2049 2849 (Point C on the order plan).

(d)A public footpath having a width of 2 metres shown on the order plan annexed hereto by a bold black dashes commencing at its junction with Croft Street at grid reference SE 2034 2848 (Point F on the order plan) and proceeding southerly for some 17 metres to grid reference SE 2034 2846 (Point G on the order plan) then proceeding generally easterly for some 112 metres to grid reference SE 2043 2845 (Point E on the order plan). The Order comes into force on the date on which Kirklees Council certify that the terms ofArticle 2 of the Order have been complied with but if any person aggrieved by the order desires to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the aboveAct, or on the ground that any requirement of thatAct or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the Order, he or she may apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under section 287 of the Town and Country PlanningAct 1990 within 6 weeks from the date on which notice is first published as required by paragraph 7 of Schedule 14 to theAct.
