What is happening?

WAKEFIELD COUNCIL

(SPEED LIMIT) (NO. 6) ORDER 2025

A637 HUDDERSFIELD ROAD (PART)/

SYCAMORE LANE/BRETTON LANE (PART), WEST BRETTON

The Council of the City of Wakefield has made the above order under its powers in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which, in relation to roads at West Bretton will be to:-

1.  Introduce a 20mph speed limit along a section of the following roads;

•  Sycamore Lane

•  Bretton Lane (part)

2.  Introduce a 40mph speed limit along a sections of the following road;

 • A637 Huddersfield Road

The Order comes into force on 31st March 2026 and a copy of the Speed Limit Order, together with a map showing the affected roads and the Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Order may be viewed on the website www.wakefield.gov.uk/tro.

If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirements of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks from the date upon which the Order was made (i.e. 16th March 2026) apply to the High Court for this purpose.
