Notice is given that the Council of the City of Peterborough has made an Order pursuant to section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:

The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic

Order 2026 – Peterborough Road, Crowland Ref: 26-336

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Peterborough Road, Crowland, from approx. 175m north of Thorney Road for approx. 175m. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: Thorney Road, A16, Peterborough Road and vice versa. The proposed order will come into force on the 23/03/2026 and will continue until the new electrical connection works have been completed or until the 22/03/2027, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place between the 23/03/2026 and the 02/04/2026. The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Woodgate Lane, Maxey, for its entire length. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. There is no alternative route for vehicles affected by this order, access will be maintained. The proposed order will come into force on the 23/03/2026 and will continue until the new duct installation works have been completed or until the 22/03/2027, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place between the 23/03/2026 and the 25/03/2026. The alternative routes for vehicles affected by this order are detailed in the schedule. The proposed order will come into force on the 24/03/2026 and will continue until the maintenance of sewer system works have been completed or until the 22/03/2027, whichever is the earlier. The proposed order will come into force on the 25/03/2026 and will continue until the replacement telegraph pole works have been completed or until the 24/03/2027, whichever is the earlier. The alternative route for pedestrians and cyclists affected by this order is: Shrewsbury Avenue, Newcastle Drive, Oakleigh Drive, Thornleigh Drive, Caldervale and vice versa. The proposed Order will come into operation on 28/03/2026 and will continue until the footpath (S278) works have been completed or until the 27/09/2026, whichever is the earlier. Access will be maintained to properties affected by this Notice. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: none available This notice is made in the interest of trial hole excavation works and will remain effective for no more than 5 days from 21/03/2026.
