What is happening?
CHESHIRE EAST BOROUGH COUNCIL
NOTICE OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC – ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – Alton Street, Crewe
Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers has made an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic.
Prohibition of traffic – Alton Street, Crewe – From the junction of Stewart Street to the junction of Rockwood Avenue.
The alternative route will be via Stewart Street, Rockwood Avenue and vice versa which is considered the most suitable route.
This order will come into operation on Tuesday 7th April 2026 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Friday 17th April 2026.
