What is happening?

ABERDEENSHIRE COUNCIL

B979 – TEMPORARY 40MPH SPEED LIMIT

“The Aberdeenshire Council (B979 Boat of Hatton – 23.03.26) (Temporary 40mph Speed Limit) Order, 2026” has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984.

The order will operate from 23.03.26 for 18 months and will introduce a 40mph speed limit on the B979 (Boat of Hatton) Blackburn to Hatton of Fintray Road from the War Memorial, Hatton of Fintray southwards for 550 metres.

The temporary speed limit is necessary in the in the interest of public safety as the Boat of Hatton bridge deck has been reduced to single lane working.
