What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) C76 (Part), Brinkworth and Tockenham; from its junction with C108 to its junction with A3102 to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out verge overrun repair works and other associated works. Alternative route via A3102 – C122 – C76 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 07 April 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:00 and 17:00 until 17 April 2026. B) C8 (Part), Bishops Cannings; from its property known as Bachelors Mead for a distance of approximately 880m in an easterly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing works and other associated works. Alternative route via C8 (unaffected length) – C38 – C73 – A4 – A361 – C50 – C8 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 07 April 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 until 14 April 2026. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

C) Danes Close (Part), Chippenham; from its junction with Crown Close for a distance of approximately 137m in a north westerly direction.

D) Crown Close, Chippenham; from its junction with Danes Close for its entire length.

E) Ludlow Close, Chippenham; from its junction with Crown Close for its entire length.

F) Dummer Way, Chippenham; from its junction with Crown Close for its entire length.

G) Hancock Close, Chippenham; from its junction with Crown Close for its entire length to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out overlay works and other associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 16 March 2026 and the closure will be required until 10 July 2026. H) Lowden Hill, Chippenham; from its junction with Lowden to its junction with A4 to enable Openreach to carry out pole and cabling works and other associated works. Alternative route via A4 – Lowden and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 20 March 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. I) B4003, Avebury; from its junction with A4361 to its junction with A4.

J) A4361 (Part), Avebury; from its junction with Longfields for a distance of approximately 2.2km in a north easterly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out manhole cover, sewer sealing works and other associated works. Alternative route via A4361 (unaffected length) – A4 – A3102 – B4005 – A4361 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 19 March 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 until 26 March 2026. K) A342 (Part), Rowde and Bromham; from its junction with Cook Road to its junction with Highfield to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing and other associated works. Alternative via A342 (unaffected length) – A3102 – A4 – A361 – A342 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 17 March 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 until 24 March 2026. L) C85 (Part), Oaksey; from its junction with Bendy Bow for a distance of approximately 60m in an easterly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out sewer repair work and other associated works. Alternative route via C85 (unaffected length) – C90 – C76 – A429 – C85 (unaffected length) and vice versa. M) C189 (Part), Ogbourne St George; from its junction with High Street for a distance of approximately 250m in a north easterly direction to enable Openreach to carry out gully sucking and other associated works. Alternative route via C189 (unaffected length) – C190 – C6 – Ogbourne Lane – Laneys Close – North View Place – A346 – C189 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 17 March 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. N) C241 (Part), Marden; from its property known as No.13 The Street for a distance of approximately 25m in a northerly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out service repair and other associated works. Alternative route via C241 (unaffected length) – C240 – C51 – C241 (unaffected length) and vice versa. O) St Marys Street (Part), Malmesbury; from its junction with Burnham Road to its junction with St Marys Lane to enable Openreach to carry out overhead cabling works and other associated works. Alternative route via St Marys Street (unaffected length) – The Triangle – Bristol Street – Harpers Lane – West Street (one way) – Katifer Lane – West Street and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 17 March 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. P) B4040 (Part), Malmesbury; from its junction with High Street to its junction with Bristol Street to enable Openreach to carry out pole installation works and other associated works. Alternative route via Gloucester Road – Tetbury Hill – B4014 – Crudwell Road – Whychurch Roundabout – Whitchurch Hill – Holloway – Cross Hayes Lane – St Dennis Road – High Street – Oxford Street and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 15 March 2026 and the closure will be required for 1 day. For further information please contact Openreach on 0300 456 0100.

Q) C8 (Part), Pewsey; from its junction with Hare Street to its junction with Vale Road to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out retexturing. Alternative route via Vale Road – A345 – C52 and vice versa. This Order which previously came into operation on 09 December 2025 will now recommence on 17 March 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 until 23 March 2026. R) C74 (Part), Great Bedwyn; from its junction with UC 256601 to its junction with Browns Lane to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out retexturing and associated works. Alternative route via C74 (unaffected length) – A338 – C192 – C74 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order which previously came into operation on 08 December 2025 will now recommence on 16 March 2026 and will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 until 20 March 2026. S) C6 (Part), Mildenhall; from its junction with Sound Copse Lane to its junction with Thicketts Road to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out retexturing. Alternative route via C6 (unaffected length) – A4 – B4192 – C6 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order which previously came into operation on 08 December 2025 will now recommence on 16 March 2026 and will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 until 20 March 2026. Orders A) to P) will have a maximum duration of 18 months, Orders Q) to T) has a maximum duration of 18 months.

The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

Stanier Road (Part), Calne; from its junction with A3102 for a distance of approximately 75m in a south easterly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out excavation and reconfiguration of existing carriageway and other associated works. Alternative route via A3102 – A4 – A4361 – B4005 – A3102 – Oxford Road – Stanier Road (unaffected length) and vice versa. And to temporarily prohibit a right hand turn manoeuvre from Stanier Road into A3102. And to temporarily prohibit a right hand turn manoeuvre from Beaversbrook Sports Pavillion into A3102.

The closure, prohibitions and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

This Order will come into operation on 17 March 2026 and the closure will be required until 20 July 2026. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months. A) Bridleway 14, Christian Malford; from its junction with Brights Farm Road to its junction with Bridleway 35, Lyneham and Bradenstoke.

B) Bridleway 35 (Part), Lyneham and Bradenstoke; from its junction with Bridleway 14, Christian Malford to its junction with Bridleway 36, Lyneham and Bradenstoke to enable works to bridge. Alternative route A via Footpath 34, Lyneham and Bradenstoke – Hollow Way – Bridleway 35, Lyneham and Bradenstoke and vice versa. For walkers only. No alternative route is available for B.

The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

This closure which follows an emergency notice will come into operation on 19 March 2026 and the closure will be required until 18 September 2026. Access will be maintained where possible although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 6 months. THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (MARLBOROUGH)

(PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING, TAXI RANK CLEARWAYS AND ON STREET PARKING)

CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2026

(Previously advertised as The County of Wiltshire (Marlborough) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting, Taxi Rank Clearways and On Street Parking) Consolidation Order 2024 (Amendment No.1))

Notice is hereby given that on 4 March 2026 Wiltshire Council made the above mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 to revoke The County of Wiltshire (Marlborough) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting, Taxi Rank Clearways and On Street Parking) Consolidation Order 2024, re-enact it in the above Order and to make the following amendments:

a) To remove existing No Waiting Monday to Saturday 8am – 6pm and replace with No Waiting at any time on High Street, Marlborough – north west side – from a point 40 metres north east of a point in line with the south western boundary of property No.130 High Street for a distance of 3 metres in a north easterly direction;

b) To remove existing No Waiting Monday to Saturday 8am – 6pm and replace with Disabled Parking Monday to Saturday 9am – 6pm, 1 hour no return within 2 hours on High Street, Marlborough – north west side – from a point 36 metres north east of a point in line with the south western boundary of property No.130 High Street for a distance of 4 metres in a north easterly direction;

c) To remove existing No Waiting Monday to Saturday 8am – 6pm and Disabled Parking Monday to Saturday 9am – 6pm, 1 hour No return within 2 hours and replace with Parking Monday to Saturday 8am – 6pm 30 minutes No return within 2 hours on High Street, Marlborough – north west side – i) from a point 30 metres north east of a point in line with the south western boundary of property No.130 High Street for a distance of 6 metres in a north easterly direction ii) from a point 43 metres north east of a point in line with the south western boundary of property No.130 High Street for a distance of 13 metres in a north easterly direction.

A copy of the Order can be obtained via email request to TrafficOrders@wiltshire.gov.uk. Any person aggrieved by the Order or by any provision contained in it may question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in the Order on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the above Act or on the grounds that any requirement of that Section or Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act or any regulation made under the said Schedule, has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

The Order will come into operation on 20 March 2026.
