Consolidation Order 2024 (Variation No.5) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that on the 5 March 2026 North Somerset Council made the following order in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The general effect of the order shall be to amend the North Somerset Council Moving Traffic Prohibitions and Restrictions, North Somerset Consolidation Order 2024 to include the introduction of new bus lanes around the junction of B3440 Bristol Road with A370 Somerset Avenue in Weston-super-Mare and additionally another extent of bus lane on Queensway’s approach to its junction with Walford Avenue. The current eastbound section of bus lane on Bristol Road between Victory Roundabout and Bristol Road’s junction with Queensway will be removed. There will also be the introduction of a left turn only regulation onto New Bristol Road when approaching from Paddock Park. The order will come into operation on the 23 March 2026, and copies of the order may be inspected at: https://streets.appyway.com/north-somerset
Any person who desires to question the validity of, or of any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within six weeks after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
Schedule - Part 3: Moving Restrictions - Bus Lanes with exemptions for pedal cycles, motorcycles, and taxis (bus lane in use 12.00-00.00hrs)
B3440 Bristol Road westbound slip road - three sections of bus lane on the slip road from A370 Somerset Avenue to B3440 Bristol Road (a total length of approximately 202m). Bus Lanes with exemptions for pedal cycles, motorcycles, and taxis (bus lane in use 24 hrs) Queensway southeastbound - a bus lane from almost opposite the delivery exit junction to the Queensway Centre proceeding towards Queensway’s junction with Walford Avenue (approximately 38m in length). B3440 Bristol Road southbound and B3440 Bristol Road eastbound slip road - a bus lane between the existing bus stop near Shepherds Way and the top of the slip road to A370 Somerset Avenue (approximately 78m in length). Left turn only - New Bristol Road (westbound left turn only onto New Bristol Road when exiting from Paddock Park. Revocation of bus lane - B3440 Bristol Road Bus Lane - the section of eastbound bus lane on B3440 Bristol Road between Victory Roundabout and Bristol Roads junction with Queensway (approximately 72m in length)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Regulation Order
Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:
Wrington Lane, Congresbury, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026
Date coming into Force: 13 May 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach Limited for overhead cabling and pole testing. This order will become operative on the 13 May 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 6 hours in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Footpath AX14/41/10, Churchill, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Pedestrians Order 2026
Date coming into Force: 26 March 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to pedestrians the lengths of footpaths specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of footpaths.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Bower & Kirkland for investigative and drainage connection works related to proposed school site (subject to any planning consents). This order will become operative on the 26 March 2026 for a maximum period of six months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the phased works which is anticipated to be of approximately two weeks in duration initially followed by a further week between March and the end of August subject to the progression of the works. Appropriate pedestrian traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026
Date coming into Force: 13 April 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach Limited to renew a frame and cover. This order will become operative on the 13 April 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 2 nights in duration, between 10pm and 6am. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by National Grid for resurfacing works and updating the speed signs. This order will become operative on the 27 April 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 nights in duration, between 8pm and 6am. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order will become operative on the 29 May 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 1 day in duration. Temporary 10mph Speed Restriction Order 2026
Date coming into Force: 16 March 2026

Will be to restrict, temporarily, any vehicles from exceeding 10mph on the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services in an emergency situation.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Taylor Plant Ltd to install a new water main feed to housing development. This order will become operative on the 16 March 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 18 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026
Date coming into Force: 23 March 2026

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wessex Water to carry out CCTV surveys and cleaning of public sewer. This order will become operative on the 23 March 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 4 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order will become operative on the 23 March 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 5 days in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
