What is happening?

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2026

On 18 March 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of; (a) Carthouse Lane (D3625) Horsell; (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Carthouse Lane (D3625) Horsell Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026 in its entirety. Alternative Route: (1) Chobham Road, Barrs Lane, and Littlewick Road, or this route in reverse; (2) Guildford Road, Castle Grove Road, (A3046) Station Road, (A3046) Chobham Road, and Littlewick Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate overhead cabling works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 31 March 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the banksmen on site, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

Station Approach (A320) Woking
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 13 March 2026, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from turn right from Station Approach (A320) Woking southbound (south of its junction with Heathside Road (D3709)) onto Guildford Road (A320).

Alternative route – A320 (Guildford Road) to Turnoak Roundabout and return.

This Order is required to enable Openreach to facilitate utility works and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 30 March 2026 for 2 days between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.

York Road (C141) Woking
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of the eastbound carriageway of York Road (C141) Woking as extends from its junction with the access to the properties known as “Consort Court” to its junction with (A320) Guildford Road and (A320) Station Approach. Alternative Route – Station Road; Montgomery Road; Mount Hermon Road; and A320 Guildford Road. This 12-month Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 13 April 2026 is required to facilitate mains gas service disconnection works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of SGN within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over 2 weeks between the hours of 8am and 6pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will operate only when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for Residents within the closure area, the emergency services, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.1) 2026

On 18 March 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate carriageway surfacing and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 27 March 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.

  1. that length of A320 Guildford Road, Mayford and A320 Woking Road, Guildford which extends from the junction with Clay Lane to the roundabout junction with Mayford Green. Alternative Route – A320 Egley Road, A320 Wych Hill Lane, A247 Kingfield Road, A247 High Street, A247 Broadmead Road, A247 Send Road, A247 Send Barns Lane, A247 Clandon Road, A247 The Street, A25 Epsom Road, A246 Epsom Road, A246 Waterden Road, A246 York Road, A322 Woodbridge Road, A25 Ladymead and A320 Woking Road;
  2. that length of C12 Limecroft Road, Knaphill which extends from its junction with Guildford Road to its junction with Chobham Road. Alternative Route – A322 Guildford Road, A322 Bagshot Road, D3603 Broadway and C12 High Street (7.5 tonne weight limit);
  3. that length of D3730 Windsor Way, Maybury which extends from its junction with Princess Road to its junction with Balmoral Drive. Alternative Route – D3725 Princess Road, D3730 Bassett Road and D3730 Balmoral Drive.
