CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(THE RYE, EATON BRAY)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of The Rye, Eaton Bray outside number 7.

This temporary closure is required to enable new electrical connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 13 to 22 April 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Stranbridge Rd, B440, Eaton Bray Rd, The Rye and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 13 April 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(BOSCOMBE ROAD, DUNSTABLE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Boscombe Road, Dunstable from Eyncourt Rd Roundabout to Porz Avenue Roundabout.

This temporary closure is required to enable civils and resurfacing work with paco and lining to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 13 to 24 April 2026.Between the hours of 0900 and 1530 The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Porz Avenue, Lovett Way, Eyncourt Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 13 April 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(FOOTPATH ON LANCOT AVENUE, DUNSTABLE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along that length of footpath between nos 23 to 27 Lancot Avenue, Dunstable.

This temporary closure is required to enable new lv supply work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

It is expected that the works will take place from 3 to 12 April 2026.

The alternative route for this closure is via the opposite footpath.

The Order will come into operation on 3 April 2025 for a period of four months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(LOWER EAST END, HARLINGTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the full length of Lower East End, Harlington.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway repair works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 30 March to 1 April 2026 between the hours of 0800-1800. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be Barton Road, Sundon Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 30 March 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL – NOTICE OF MAKING

UNION STREET, DUNSTABLE

WAITING RESTRICTIONS

On 10th March 2026 Central Bedfordshire Council made the below named Traffic Regulation Order which has the effect as follows:To introduce Parking for Disabled badge holders only on the following lengths of road in Dunstable:-

1.  Union Street, northwest side, from a point approximately 16 metres from the centre of the junction with Sandland Close (where the existing No Waiting at any time restriction ends), and extending in a south westerly direction, covering an area approximately 6.6 metres in length and 2 metres in width.

Order Title:- Central Bedfordshire Council (Bedfordshire County Council (District of South Bedfordshire) (Civil Enforcement Area and Special Enforcement Area) (Waiting Restrictions and Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2008) (Variation No.5) Order 2026 Date of Operation:- The Order will come into operation on the 25th March 2026.

High Court Challenge:- Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the ground that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the ground that any requirement of that Section had not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of 10th March 2026, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL – NOTICE OF MAKING MANOR ROAD AND ORCHARD CLOSE, CADDINGTON WAITING RESTRICTIONS

On 10th March 2026 Central Bedfordshire Council made the below named Traffic Regulation Order which has the effect as follows: To introduce No waiting at any time on the following lengths of road in Dunstable:-

1.   Manor Road, west side, from the junction with Orchard Close, extending in a southerly direction for approximately 15 metres, up to the southern end of the existing dropped kerb outside No.33 Manor Road (Caddington Surgery).

2.   Orchard Close, south side, from the junction with Manor Road, extending in a north-westerly direction initially, following the curvature of the kerb, and then westerly for approximately 10 metres.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO INTRODUCE

NO WAITING AT ANY TIME ON MILLERS LAY, LOCKINGTON CRESCENT, MARKHAM CRESCENT AND EVELYN ROAD, DUNSTABLE

Reason for proposal: For avoiding danger to persons or other traffic and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising, for facilitating the passage of traffic on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians) and the waiting restrictions are intended to address indiscriminate parking and to ensure that junctions are not obstructed by parked vehicles.

Effect of the Order:

To introduce No Waiting at any time the following length of road in Dunstable:-

1.   Evelyn Road, both sides, from the junction with Katherine Drive, extending in a south-easterly direction for approximately 10 metres.

2.   Katherine Drive, north-east side, from the junction with Evelyn Road, extending in a northerly direction for approximately 10 metres.

3.   Katherine Drive, south-east side, from the junction with Evelyn Road, extending in a westerly direction for approximately 10 metres.

4.   Markham Crescent, both sides, from the junction with Katherine Drive, extending in a north-westerly direction for approximately 10 metres.

5.   Katherine Drive, north-west side, from the junction with Markham Crescent, extending in a north-easterly direction for approximately 10 metres.

6.   Katherine Drive, north-west side, from the junction with Markham Crescent, extending in a south-westerly direction for approximately 10 metres.

7.   Lockington Crescent, both sides, from the junction with Katherine Drive, extending in a north-westerly direction for approximately 10 metres.

8.   Katherine Drive, north-west side, from the junction with Lockington Crescent, extending in a north-easterly direction for approximately 10 metres.

9.   Katherine Drive, south-west side, from the junction with Lockington Crescent, extending in a south-westerly direction for approximately 10 metres.

10. Millers Lay, both sides, from the junction with Katherine Drive, extending in a north-westerly direction for approximately 10 metres

11. Katherine Drive, north-west side, from the junction with Millers Lay, extending in an easterly direction for approximately 10 metres.

12. Katherine Drive, north-west side, from the junction with Millers Lay, extending in a westerly direction for approximately 10 metres.
