NOTICE is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport has extended the Order to close temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 (as amended) part of Public Footpath FTM 77 from its junction with FTM 93 & FTM 77A and then extends in a generally easterly and southerly direction for approximately 1740 metres to its junction with Public Footpath FTM 94

The said footpath falls within the Parish of Huntley in the Forest of Dean District, in the County of Gloucestershire.

The said footpath falls within the Parish of Tidenham in the Forest of Dean District within the County of Gloucestershire.

The said closure is necessary to safeguard the health and safety of the public due to a cliff face collapse which has become unstable and is now blocking the said footpath.

The said closure came into force on the 5th June 2024 and authorised the closure for a period of six months. However, as works to rectify the collapse had not been completed within this time, the Secretary of State subsequently granted an extension of the said Order until the 5th May 2026. As the said works are still not complete the Secretary of State has now granted a further extension until 5th May 2027 or until the works have been completed, whichever is earlier.
