NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough
Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act 1984, has made the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Various Roads in Wigan Borough) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No.624) Order 2026 which will come into operation on 6th April 2026.
The effect of the Order will be to introduce no loading at any time on:
• Presbyterian Fold, Hindley (North side) from its junction with Ladies Lane to the road end where it meets the unadopted section.
• Presbyterian Fold, Hindley (South side) from its junction with Market Street to the road end where it meets the unadopted section.
A copy of the Order and of the relevant map may be requested by emailing libby.gill@wigan.gov.uk Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained therein on the ground:
(a) that it is not within the powers of Section 1 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984; or the Traffic Management Act 2004, or
(b) that any requirement of the said Section 1, or of Part III of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or of any regulations made under the said Part III of Schedule 9 or of any requirement of the 2004 Act, has not been complied with, may within six weeks of 5th March 2026 make application for the purpose to the High Court.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Grove Lane, Standish) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven on Grove Lane, Standish on 28th April 2026 between the hours of 9.00am and 4.30pm.
The alternative route for traffic is: Glebe Road – St Wilfrid’s Road.
The Order is necessary to allow water main renewal.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Lily Lane, Bamfurlong) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026 which will come into operation on 21st March 2026.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven on Lily Lane, Bamfurlong on 21st March 2026.
The alternative route for traffic is: Bolton Road –
Gerard Street – Warrington Road – Lodge Lane
– East Lancashire Road – Bridge Street – High
Street – Church Street – Ashton Road – Wigan Road – Aye Bridge Road – Warrington Road.
The Order is necessary to allow frame and cover.
Broxton Avenue and Orrell Road – Prohibition of Loading

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough
Council, in exercise of the powers under Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act 1984, proposes to make the Wigan Borough
(Decriminalisation of Parking) (Various Roads in
Wigan Borough) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No.629) Order 2026.
The effect of the Order will be to introduce restricted loading on Monday to Friday from 7:30am - 9:30am and 4:30pm - 6:30pm on:
• Orrell Road, Orrell (South) from its junction with Moor Road to a point 44 metres east of its junction with Orrell Gardens.
• Orrell Road, Orrell (North) from its junction with Moor Road to a point 15 metres west of its junction with Broxton Avenue.
• Orrell Road, Orrell (North) from a point 10 metres east of its junction with Broxton Avenue to a point 44 metres east of its junction with Orrell Gardens.
The effect of the Order will be to introduce no loading at any time on:
• Orrell Road, Orrell (North) from a point 15 metres west of its junction with Broxton Avenue to a point 10 metres east of its junction with Broxton Avenue.
• Broxton Avenue, Orrell (Both sides) from its junction with Orrell Road to a point 15 metres north of its junction with Orrell Road.
The effect of the Order will be to revoke restricted loading on Monday to Friday at the times specified below on:
• Orrell Road, Orrell (Both sides) from its junction with Moor Road to a point 44 metres east of its junction with Orrell Gardens between 7:30am - 9:30am and 4:30pm - 6:30pm.
• Broxton Avenue, Orrell (Both sides) from its junction with Orrell Road for a distance of 15 metres in a northerly direction between 7:30am - 9:30am and 4:00pm - 6:30pm.
The Order also provides that if any vehicle is left in any road or length of road affected by the Order in contravention of any provision of the Order a penalty charge (in the amount set by the Council) shall be payable and/or the vehicle may be removed.
A copy of the proposed Order, the Order to be amended, and of the relevant map and of a statement of the reasons for proposing to make the Order may be requested by emailing libby.gill@wigan.gov.uk
Any objection to the Order must be made in writing and specify the grounds thereof and must be made to the Assistant Director – Legal, Governance and Elections, Wigan Council, Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan, WN1 1YN or by emailing the above email address quoting reference RD/LS/LG/14140972 not later than 14th April 2026. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven on Darnhall Street, Ince on 13th April 2026 until 27th April 2026.
The alternative route for traffic is: Warrington Road
– Repton Avenue – Derby StreetThe Order is necessary to allow gas main replacement scheme.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Cycle Lane on Robin Park Road, Wigan) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from riding a bicycle or causing or permitting a bicycle to be ridden on the cycle lane on Robin Park Road, Wigan during the period of 1st April 2026 to 10th April 2026.
Please note there is no alternative route available. The Order is necessary to allow new electric connection.
