What is happening?

THE BOROUGH OF BLACKPOOL

(SEASIDERS WAY)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Blackpool Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers to facilitate the repairs and maintenance of the abutment walls and beams of the bridge structure. The effect of the Order will be to:

(a) Prohibit all vehicles from entering or proceeding in any direction along the length of Seasiders Way from its junction with the roundabout with Parkinson Way and Yeadon Way to the entrance of Bloomfield Road Car Park.

(b) Prohibit all pedestrians from entering or proceeding in any direction along the length of the footway on the eastern side of Seasiders Way leading onto Waterloo Road Bridge.

(c) Prohibit all pedestrians from entering or proceeding in any direction along the length of the footway on the western side of Seasiders Way situated in the southern side of Bloomfield Road Car Park leading onto Waterloo Road Bridge.

ACCESS: Limited access will be maintained for:

a) Vehicles being used in connection with the works.

All diversion routes will be clearly signed and maintained on site.

The proposed Order will commence on 07 April 2026 and continue in force for eighteen months or until the sooner completion of the aforesaid works. It is expected that the works will take 81 days.
