ASHFORD AREA

A28 Canterbury Road, Kennington, TN24 9PF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A28 Canterbury Road, Kennington from 12th April 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between numbers 249 and 271, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

B2067 Warehorne Road, Warehorne.​ (TEMPORARY 40 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to impose a temporary mandatory 40 mph speed restriction on part of B2067 Warehorne Road, Warehorne from 7th April 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The temporary 40 mph speed restriction on B2067 Warehorne Road will be imposed from Burr Farm heading eastwards for approximately 120m, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.



B2229 Beaver Lane, Ashford, TN23 4NW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2026

To allow carriageway strengthening works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of B2229 Beaver Lane, Ashford from 8th April 2026 with estimated completion by 11th April 2026, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Jemmett Road and Langholm Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic eastbound is via B2229 Beaver Lane, Beaver Road, Bond Road and Jemmett Road.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Navarac, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bank Road, Laws Lane, Frith Road and vice versa.

Brabourne Road, Wye, TN25 5PP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Brabourne Road, Wye from 25th March 2026 with estimated completion by 26th March 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 380m north of the junction with Hampton Lane heading 100m in a northerly direction, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Brabourne Road, Amage Road, Coldharbour Lane, Wye Road, The Street, New Barn Road, New Barn Hill, Pilgrims Way and vice versa.

Branch Road & Bagham Road, Chilham.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2026

To allow tree works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Branch Road & Bagham Road, Chilham from 23rd March 2026, with estimated completion by 27th March 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The roads will be closed at the junctions where the roads meet, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for Branch Road is via Bagham Road, Hambrook Lane, School Hill, The Square, Taylors Hill, A252 Maidstone Road, Bagham Lane and vice versa.

The alternative route for Bagham Road is via Branch Road, A28, A252 Ashford Road, Canterbury Road, Maidstone Road, Bagham Lane and Bagham Road.

To allow carriageway strengthening works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic, in phases, on part of Britannia Lane & Ashford Road, Kingsnorth and Kingsnorth Road, Ashford from 23rd March 2026 with estimated completion by 9th April 2026, or until the works have been completed.

Phase 1

Britannia Lane

The road will be closed from 23rd March 2026 with estimated completion by 27th March 2026, between the hours of 19:30 and 05:00 only, between Kingsnorth Road roundabout and the junction with Millbank, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Chart Road, Long Length, Coulter Road, Cuckoo Lane, Stanhope Road and Kingsnorth Road.

Phase 2

Britannia Lane, Ashford Road & Kingsnorth Road

The roads will be closed from 27th March 2026 with estimated completion by 9th April 2026, between the hours of 19:30 and 05:00 only.

To allow frame and cover works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Catts Hill, Stone from 23rd March 2026, with estimated completion by 27th March 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Catts Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of High Street, Charing from 10th April 2026 with estimated completion by 13th April 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with A20 Ashford Road and Old Ashford Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via High Street, A20 Ashford Road, Old Ashford Road and vice versa.

The road will be closed approximately 50m east of the junction with Chapel Wood, heading a further 100m in an easterly direction, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

To allow gas mains replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of various roads in Ashford. The restrictions will be carried out in phases from 7th April 2026, with estimated completion by 5th June 2026, or until the works have been completed.

A292 New Street

The road will be closed southbound only, between the junctions with Magazine Road and Somerset Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any traffic is via B2067 Hamstreet Road, Bilsington Road, Ruckinge Road, Bonnington Road, Knoll Hill, Roman Road, Aldington Road, Otterpool Lane, A20 Ashford Road, Barrow Hill, Main Road, Hythe Road, M20 J10a Roundabout, A2070 Bad Munstereifel Road, Hamstreet Bypass, Marsh Road and B2067 The Street.
