What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (U2070 Beechy Avenue,

Eastbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road; Temporary Road Closure

Beechy Avenue – from the junction with U2070 Beechy Gardens to the junction with U2070 Cavalry Crescent.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U2070 Cavalry Crescent, South Avenue, Beechy Gardens and vice versa.

The Order commences 30 March 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 30 and 31 March 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7342 Church Road, Polegate) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026 To allow Power On Electric to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road; Temporary Road Closure

Church Road – from the junction with A2270 Eastbourne Road to the junction with U7342 Brightling Road. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7342 Church Road – C40 High Street – A2270 Eastbourne Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 30 March 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 30 March and 10 April 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.
