(STAINING OLD ROAD, POULTON-LE-FYLDE, STAINING OLD ROAD, STAINING AND MILL LANE, STAINING, WYRE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of
i. Staining Old Road, Poulton-Le-Fylde for its entire length.
ii. Staining Old Road, Staining for its entire length
iii. Mill Lane, Staining from its junction with Smithy Lane to it junction with Staining Rise.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from daily from 1700 hours until 2359 hours on Monday 30th March 2026 until Wednesday 1st April 2026 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
i. Normoss Road – Longhouse Lane – Smithy Lane and vice versa.
ii. Normoss Road – Longhouse Lane – Smithy Lane and vice versa.
iii. Staining Road – Castle Road and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow cable recovery works to be carried out by MJ Quinn on behalf of BT.
