Various Roads, Shepton Mallet in the Parish of Shepton Mallet (Temporary Traffic Restrictions) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that on the 27th day of February 2026 Somerset Council made the above Order in exercise of the provisions of Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as previously advertised on the 19th day of February 2026, to introduce temporary restrictions on the roads specified in the Schedules below. This Order will come into operation on the 5th day of March 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months. The Works are expected to commence on 9th day of March 2026 until the 23rd day of March 2026 (between 00:00 hours and 23:59 hours) to enable Wales and West Utilities to carry out gas main upgrade works. The restrictions will only apply when indicated by traffic signs. Exemptions are provided in the Order for emergency vehicles. Statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order
a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or
b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
