What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S –
PUBLIC NOTICES OF MAKING
NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (“The Council”) have made an Order/s under
Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict
the use of roads as stated below. The Order/s for regulation is/are required for the purpose/s as stated
below. There are exemptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular access at the
discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any land or premises having a frontage to the
said highway affected where there is no other form of access, and to any access allowing the
necessary works to be undertaken. Access will be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted
horse riders unless stated below. The alternative route/s for those affected by the proposal/s is/are as
stated below.
The Order/s came into force on 16 th March 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum period of
eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works
are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is expected that the Order/s will only be operative
for the duration as stated below.
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B4369 Broome to Aston
On Clun
Date & Duration: 17th March 2026 for 2 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Road Closure to enable carriageway repairs
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Chapel Street, Wem at the
same time the one way order will be reversed on Drawell Lane
Date & Duration: 16th March 2026 from 19:00 to Midnight
Purpose: Road Closure - Replace defective cover and frame
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Cheshire Street, Market
Drayton
Date & Duration: 22nd March 2026 between 08:00 to 16:00

direction on Porthill Road, Shrewsbury

High Street, Bridgnorth
Date & Duration: 22nd March 2026 from 09:00 to 16:00
Purpose: Bridgnorth Vintage Tractor Run to facilitate access to residents
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from travelling at no more that 40 and
30 mph on the B4580 between Back Racecourse Lane and Whitwell Lane, near Oswestry
Date & Duration: 16th March 2026 for 95 days
Purpose: Temporary speed restriction - Speed Reduction from 60mph to 40mph to
30mph through site as directed by signage
