TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2026
WEST END, STEVINGTON 25 – 161
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of West End, Stevington Opposite entrance to Meeting Farm. This temporary road closure is required to replace one decayed telegraph pole and rehang associated cabling and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation
08:00 to 18:00 hours from 26th March 2026 to 27th March 2026 The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via West End, Pavenham Road, High Street, East End, Bedford Road, Westfield Road, Church Lane, Park Road, Court Lane.
The reverse route applies.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2026
GOLDINGTON ROAD, (KIMBOLTON ROAD ROUNDABOUT) BEDFORD 26 002 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle and bycycle except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along Goldington Road, roundabout exit slip onto Kimbolton Road Bedford.
This temporary cycle lane closure and lane closure is required to access a manhole to carry out desilting work and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 08:00 to 16:00 hours 12th April 2026
The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via St Peters Street, Dame Alice Street, St Loyes Street, Bromham Road, Shakespeare Road, Clapham Road, Tavistock Street, The Broadway, Kimbolton Road, Goldington Road. The reverse route applies.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the order made by Bedford Borough Council on 6th September 2004, extended 7th March 2025 the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of Stewartby: Footpath No 5 which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0147 4305 to OS GR TL 0186 4242 has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 15th March 2027.
This closure is required to carry out demolition works. The closure will continue from Monday 16th March 2026 for up to a year.
There is no alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation.
The Order will come into operation on 16th March 2026 for a period not exceeding one year or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near to the footpath have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within one year the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of Stewartby: Footpath No A1 and Elstow: Footpath No 8 which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference TL 0342 4643 (OS GR) to TL 0395 4586 OS GR.
This temporary closure is required to secure site for works, security and safety during development. The closure is expected to take place from Wednesday 1st April 2026.
There is no alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation.
The proposed Order will come into operation on 1st April 2026 for a period not exceeding six months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near to the footpaths have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within six months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.
