DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT FOR CHICHESTER
WSCC (CHICHESTER NO. 2: ROGATE
(ADDITION OF A FOOTPATH))
On 23 February 2026 WSCC confirmed the above-named Order unopposed and without modification under Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, and which takes effect on that date.
The effect of the order, confirmed as made, is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement for Chichester by the addition of a footpath commencing from the A272 East Street grid reference 480768, 123831 with an initial width of 2.2M and proceeding in a northerly direction across the White Horse car park for approximately 22M with a width varying between 2.2 and 4.1M to grid reference 480768, 123853 and proceeding in a north-westerly direction for approximately 27M with a minimum width of 1.5M to the Rogate Village recreation ground grid reference 480746, 123868.
A copy of the Order and the Order Plan may be seen free of charge at Legal Services, WSCC, County Hall, Chichester, PO19 1RQ and at Horsham District Council during opening hours. A copy of the Order and Plan may be purchased for £8.00 from Legal Services, County Hall.
If any person aggrieved by the Order desires to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or that any of the requirements of Schedule 15 of the Act have not been complied with in relation to it, they may, under paragraph 12 (i) of Schedule 15 to the Act, within 42 days from 12 March 2026 make an application to the High Court.
