(Various Roads, Boxted/Langham/Myland) (Colchester Half Marathon)
(Special Event) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 16 (A-C) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), has made the above Order to facilitate the Colchester Half Marathon Charity Event.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close the following lengths of road in Myland/Langham/Boxted and the City of Colchester, to facilitate the Colchester Half Marathon. This event (Colchester Half Marathon) will be starting at United Way and finishing at United Way.

The Order will come into effect on 08 March 2026 and may continue in force for 3 days unless extended by the Secretary of State.
(Footpath 34 Stanway) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2026
Further to notice: Under section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), which commenced on 14 February 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 04, Stanway in the City of Colchester, for its entire length from footpath 25 to London Road.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 07 March 2026, weather permitting, or where appropriate signs are showing and is required for the safety of the public due to a dangerous revetment and footpath surface. The work to make it safe will be programmed in due course.
Alternative route: London Road, Footpath 25 and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 07 March 2026 and may continue in force for 6 months, or until the footpath/revetment has been made safe, whichever is the earlier
(Horkesley Hill, Great Horkesley)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Horkesley Hill, Great Horkesley in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 735m north west then north east then north west of its junction with Boxted Church Road for a distance of approximately 1565m in a north easterly then north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 30th March 2026 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (KA190ETEGCR0062AB – Gigaclear). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while micro ducting and associated cabling works are undertaken by Gigaclear.
An alternative route is available via A134, A1071, A1214, A12, A1341, A134 and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 12th March 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Main Road, Wormingford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Main Road, Wormingford in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Little Horkesley Road for a distance of approximately 210m in a southerly then south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 5th April 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008PLT3163193230032025 – OPENREACH LIMITED). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole testing works are undertaken by OPENREACH LIMITED.
An alternative route is available via B1508, A134, A131, B1508 and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 12th March 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Plough Road, Great Bentley)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Plough Road, Great Bentley in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Hall View Road for a distance of approximately 95m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 30th March 2026 for 12 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30041606016 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while installation works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via B1027, B1029, Great Bentley Road, Thorrington Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 12th March 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Station Road, Wakes Colne in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 200m north east of its junction with The Street for a distance of approximately 20m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st April 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD01310792192 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via Station Road, Bures Road, Chappel Road, Hall Road, B1508, Fordham Road, Wormingford Road, Plummers Road, Moat Road, Church Road, Mill Road, Fiddlers Hill, Porters Cottages, Wood Lane, A1124, Station Road and vice versa.

(Temporary Introduction of a No Left Turn) (No.4) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Tendring as specified in the Schedule.
To temporarily introduce a one way restriction in that length of Slough Lane, Elmstead in the District of Tendring, from the junction with Colchester Road to the junction with Carpenters Lane a distance of approximately 1170m (traffic to flow in a north easterly then south easterly direction only).
To temporarily introduce a one way restriction in that length of Carpenters Lane, Elmstead, in the District of Tendring from its junction with Slough Lane to its junction with Colchester Road a distance of approximately 825m (traffic to flow in a south easterly direction only).
To temporarily introduce a no left turn from Colchester Road into Carpenters Lane for the duration of the above one way restrictions only.
A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of the carriageway on the above lengths of road, for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (Tendring District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 12th March 2026 exact dates will be specified on One.Network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Braiswick, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 250m north west of its junction with Bakers Lane for a distance of approximately 155m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 22nd March 2026 for 1 night (20:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP40069979058 – RJM Elite Building Ltd). Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Burnt Dick Hill, Boxted/Park Road, Great Horkesley in the City of Colchester, from the junction of Church Hill to the junction of Horkesley Hill a distance of approximately 2535m.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 16th March 2026 for 9 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2396864 – EH2396866 & EP201EH2396865 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Holliewell Close, Stanway in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 35m south east of its junction with New Farm Road for a distance of approximately 10m in a south easterly then south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 16th March 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD01310798998 – Anglian Water). The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th March 2026 – (22:00-03:00) for 1 night, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03767101028 – Anglian Water). Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of John Street, Brightlingsea in the District of Tendring, from its junction with High Street to its junction with Margaret Close a distance of approximately 55m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th March 2026 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MT00110312264 – Affinity Water).
