PART OF STEEL STREET HOLMES ROTHERHAM

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC)

NOTICE is hereby given that Rotherham Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that part of Steel Street for a distance of  20m either side of the level crossing on Sunday 15th March 2026 between 12.25am and 8.05am.

NOTICE is further given that there is no alternative route for traffic affected by the order.

Reason for the prohibition - because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road (Level crossing maintenance works).

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1) AND 14(7)

(TEMPORARY 30 MILES PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT RESTRICTION)

NOTICE is hereby given that Rotherham Borough Council intends (not less than seven days from the date of this Notice) to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily revoke part of The Rotherham Borough Council (Various Roads, Rotherham) (Speed Limits and Speed Derestriction) (Consolidation) Order 2004 and reduce the speed limit from 60 miles hour to 30 miles per hour for motor vehicles travelling along that part of Goosecarr Lane from the existing 30mph speed limit signs for a distance of approximately 300m in a westerly direction on Monday 23rd March 2026.

The reason for the speed limit order is because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road (Safety of site personnel undertaking verge maintenance).

NOTICE is hereby given that Rotherham Borough Council acting in its capacity as traffic authority for the Borough of Rotherham has made the above-mentioned Order on the 3rd March 2026 which shall come into effect on the 16th March 2026. Notice of the proposal to make the Order was published in the Rotherham Advertiser on the 22nd January 2026. The effect of the order will be to introduce an off street car park regulated by the Council off Brinsworth Street, Rotherham which will serve as a ‘pay and display’ car park with designated parking for blue badge holders.  The proposed days and hours of operation, the maximum period for which vehicles may wait and the scale of charges that will apply are specified in the Schedule to this notice.
