(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle or cycle from proceeding over those lengths of road, in the city of Lancaster, specified in the first and second columns of Schedule 1, of the Schedule to this Notice.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibitions will be operative from 0700 hours Monday 23rd March 2026 until 1700 hours on the Tuesday 7th April 2026 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Access for emergency services will be maintained. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is specified in the first and second columns of Schedule 2, of the Schedule to this notice
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow utility works to excavate joint bay with track to install and joint cable for 33kv scheme to be carried out by Network Plus on behalf of Electricity North West.
