(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of St Christophers Way, Morecambe from at its junction with A5105 Broadway.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0700 hours on Monday 16th March 2026 until 1700 hours on Sunday 12th April 2026 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Access for emergency services will be maintained. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
A5105 Broadway – Stuart Avenue – Pembrook Avenue – St Christophers Way and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to ease traffic flow whilst works are carried out on A5105 Broadway.

(TEMPORARY AMENDMENT) ORDER 2026
The Lancashire County Council (“the County Council”) in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, (the Act), and of all other enabling powers, HEREBY makes the following Order:-
The Lancashire County Council (St Christophers Way, Morecambe, Lancaster City) (Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic) Order 2026, is hereby temporarily Amended in that:
i. To amend the prohibition end date as follows:
The prohibition will be operative from 0700 hours on Tuesday 10th March 2026 until 1700 hours on Friday 2nd April 2026 or until completion of the works within this period.
This Temporary Amendment Order shall come into operation on 6th March 2026 and may be cited as “The Lancashire County Council (St Christophers Way, Morecambe, Lancaster City) (Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic) Order 2026 (Temporary Amendment) Order 2026”
