What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (PARK ROAD, TODDINGTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Park Road, Toddington outside number 6.

This temporary closure is required to enable defect repair works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 8 to 12 April 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Leighton Rd, Manor Rd, Park Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 8 April 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (SHARPENHOE ROAD, STREATLEY)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Sharpenhoe Road, Streatley outside The Old Baptist Church.

This temporary closure is required to enable meter exchange works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on 8 April 2026 between the hours of 0900-1600. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Church Rd, A6 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 8 April 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (ELM AVENUE, CADDINGTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the full length of Elm Avenue, Caddington.

This temporary closure is required to enable civils and resurfacing work with paco and lining to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 7 to 17 April 2026. Between the hours of 0800 and 1800 The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Manor Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 7 April 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (LUTON ROAD, TODDINGTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Luton Road, Toddington between Bradford Road and Water End Lane.

This temporary closure is required to enable Pre Surface Dressing/ Surface Dressing/ Lining and Civils Works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 23 March to 3 April 2026 between the hours of 0900-1530hrs. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via B579, B5120, A5, A5505, B5790, Luton Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 23 March 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(BARTON ROAD, HARLINGTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the full length of Barton Road, Harlington.

This temporary closure is required to enable tree felling and hedge flailing works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 23 to 25 March between the hours of 0900-1530. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via Station Rd, Toddington Rd, A5120, Kings Rd, Greenfield Rd, High St, Flitton Rd, Sand Rd, Flitton Rd, Barton Rd, Bedford Rd, B655, Sharpenhoe Rd, Barton Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 23 March 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(MANOR ROAD, TODDINGTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length Manor Road, Toddington outside number 65.

This temporary closure is required to enable telegraph pole replacement works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 23 to 24 March 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via Manor Rd, Park Rd, Market Square, Leighton Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 23 March 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

Notice of Confirmation of Modification Order Section 53 of the

Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981

Definitive Map and Statement for Central Bedfordshire as at

10 October 2014

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT FOR CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE) (WHIPSNADE: BRIDLEWAY NO. 1) MODIFICATION ORDER 2025

On 6 March 2026 Central Bedfordshire Council confirmed the abovenamed Order without modification.

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to modify the definitive map and statement for the area by:-

varying the particulars relating to the bridleway from Dunstable Downs to Whipsnade Village Green by providing that:

Bridleway No. 1, Whipsnade starts at Dunstable Downs at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0047 1910 and extends in a generally south-easterly direction for approximately 1176 metres alongside the eastern edge of Sallowspring Wood, through Sallowspring Wood, and then along a sunken way to terminate at Whipsnade Village Green at OS GR TL 0124 1825.

Bridleway No. 1, Whipsnade has a width of 5 metres between Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0047 1910 and OS GR TL 0052 1901 and a variable width of between 4 and 7 metres between OS GR TL 0052 1901 and OS GR TL 0057 1892 and a variable width of between 5 and 7 metres between OS GR TL 0057 1892 and OS GR TL 0080 1870 and a width of 9 metres between OS GR TL 0080 1870 and OS GR TL 0098 1853 and a

width of 14 metres between OS GR TL 0098 1853 and OS GR TL 0104 1843 and a variable width of between 5 and 8 metres between OS GR TL 0104 1843 and OS GR TL 0124 1825 as shown shaded pink on the order maps.

The Order comes into force on 6 March 2026 but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 or on the ground that any requirement of the Act or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 12(1) of Schedule 15 to the Act within 6 weeks from 11 March 2026 make an application to the High Court.
